How long should the alternator last in 2006 hyundai sonata

there is no specific time frame for alternators, over time the components wear and they fail, it happens faster if you have a lot of after market stuff like an amp and subs.
I have seen alternators last well over 100,000 miles and have seen them go bad at 30,000.

My 2005 Hyundai Sonata (V6-2.7L engine) has 52,000 miles on it. I took it to the shop and had it inspected. The tech said that I should replace the timing belt soon. This sounds suspicious as I thought...

Not on this year and make, Hyundai Sonata with a 2.7L engine, Hyundai recommends replacing timing belt every 60,000 miles or 48 months, whichever occurs first, this is an interference engine, which piston to valve damage will occur due to timing belt failure.

Does the timing chain should be changed and for how long?

timing chains should only be changed if there is noise or problem in that area. if it has a belt most belts need to be changed at 60,000 miles and some at 100,000. Engine damage may occur in many engines run with a timing belt that breaks.

A 2006 sonata 4 cyclinder does it have a timing belt or chain

If it is a chain then no it does not need to be changed. I would call the local dealer and give them the vin# to make sure 100% if it is a chain or a belt. Achain does have guides made of plastic that you may want to think about along with the tensioner. Good luck.
