Line up the hole in the cam sprocket with the mark on the crank. if your facing the motor front, the keyway will be on your right, with the hole another 90 degrees around. I recommend using a ruler to create a line from the center of the crank hole to the top of the cam sprocket.

Timing on a chevy venture were the belt at

Chevy Venture has a timing chain, not a belt. It is a very involved job to replace. If you have never done a timing chain before you may want to consider having it done proffesionally.

Chevy 350 1973 2wheel drive how do I set my timing chain an also take bottom sporket out ?

You need a puller to take the crank sproket off or you can try tapping it off with a hammer but do not hit the crank shaft. On the new sprokets there are is a mark on it put the cam and the crank marks together and thats it.

Chain broke

If the engine is running ok, leave it be. If you plan on keeping the vehicle for a long time and no ther issues exist with the performance, you may want to replace the chain, but you'll have to replace other parts as well. Cam shaft gear, crankshaft gear and chain should be replaced at the same time, gaskets, front seal, oil pan gaskets to name a few. Its a big job. I don't know the history of your engine, but I'm sure other parts will need replacing before the chain. Just a thought.
