Remove the top cover .As I remember it is flat and has two bolts towards the pasenger side rear area and another one or two up forward. . Its right on top of the engine. Under it you will find several coils all easily accessable. Remove them. The plugs are underneath

Be sure to plug any hoses back in on the install.

Replace spark plug's

Things you will need
Spark Plug Socket And Wrench of the correct size for your spark plugs

Basic Instructions.
Step 1
Locate your spark plugs
look for other obstructions besides your spark plug wires
if you have any other obstructions you will need to remove them as well to gain access to your spark plugs.
Step 2
Remove the spark plug wire for one single spark plug at a time.
this will insure you will not replace the wrond spark plug wire to the incorrect spark plug,
if not done this way you could change the firing order of your engine.
Step 3
With your spark plug Socket and wrench rotate the spark plug in a counter clock wise direction for removing.
Step 4
After you have removed your spark plug insert your new replacement spark Plug into your spark plug socket before inserting it into the correct location. spark plug sockets are made to hold on to the spark plug for easy removal and install.
Step 5
insert your new spark plug,
before you rotate your spark plug for tightening rotate the spark plug a 1 quarter turn in the counter clock wise direction, then start tightening the spark plug by rotating it in a clockwise direction
This will insure you will not strip the threads.
Step 6
Continue rotation your spark plug in the clock wise direction untill snug, then with just a lil more pressure tighten it up just a little more.
be sure to not put to much force on the spark plug after it has been snug, you just have to apply a little more pressure but not to much that could cause it to break.
Step 7
After tightening the spark plug replace the correct spark plug wire.
then move on to the next spark plug and follow the same instructions.

if you have any other visiable obstructions preventing you access for replacing your spark plugs you will need instructions on how to remove them parts. i have just instructed you on how to remove and reinstall the spark plugs only.

Locate sparks plugs and wires

You won't find any wires...That vehicle is equtpped with Coil On Plug (COP) ignition. The spark plugs are located under the ignition coils. It is not recommended that you try to replace the spark plugs unless you have access to compressed air to blow dirt and debris out of the spark plug holes. I have had to replace many engine valves because of this.

Need to replace the spark plugs

The top of the engine has a cover remove to see ignition coils. Remove wires then coils, plugs are under coils. This is called coil on plug system. Make sure engine is over night cold before you do this, aluminum heads are easy to pull threads when they are hot. Always replace with OEM plug cheap plugs burn out coils !!!

Where are the spark plugs located on a 1999 Chevy Metro?

Right at the front of the motor as the motor relates to the car. It is a transverse mounted engine so the side of the motor faces the front and back.

The side that is closest to the radiator has the spark plugs. If it works, the attached sight will sow you a picture and other end of the wire the guy is holding is where the spark plug is located.

If you are inexperienced, be sure to use your hand to screw the plug back in to start. make sure you can turn it several turns before you use a socket. This will prevent you from cross threading the plug.

Hope this helps

Rplacing spark plugs

If the car turns over but does not start, I would replace your ignition igniter and not the plugs. Not all of your plugs will quit at once.

How do can I change spark plugs?

hi hillardgarne,

1. Purchase a wrench for spark plugs
2. pull the tension wires from engine.
3. insert the wrench until wrench gets a grip of spark plug
4. turn until plugs are completely loose
5. do this for the rest of the plugs
6. replace old with new plugs.
7. do the same thing but now, you tighten the plug (like screws)
8. return the tension wires

important:

* remember to know exactly the correct location of each tension wires, return to it's exact location (length of wires will help)
* as you take out old plugs, cover the hole where plugs are placed for it not to get dirty.
* in replacing, make sure that plugs are tightly inserted (not to tight though)

hope it helps.

Location of spark plugs in 2005 dodge dakota

To change the sparks on a 2005 4.7L Dodge Dakota you will need the following:
  • Spark plug socket
  • Ratchet
  • Torque wrench
  • Extension
  • Flat-tip screwdriver
  • Make sure the truck is cold!!!

Note you will have to remove the air intake located at the top of the engine, and will have to move some of the coolant lines out of the way.

At the top of the engine there are 4 sparks on each side. The coils are held in place with a 10mm bolt. Undo the 10mm bolt and unclip the coil. Next pull out the coil.

Insert the socket, with extension into the spark plug hole.

Remove spark plug.

Check the gap on new spark plug, it should match stock.

tighten to approximately 25ft.lbs. (check spark-plug packaging for exact torque requirements).

repeat this process with all other sparks.

be sure that no dirt gets into the spark plug holes.
