Question about 1992 Volkswagen Passat
Check gear shift cable adjustment correct. loosen cable securing bolts at gearbox, make sure gearbox is in park. put gear selector lever in park and re tighten bolts at g/box. if this does not solve the problem, multi function switch on g/box could be faulty.
