1997 BMW 328i convertible automatic tranny slipping

I have a 1997 BMW 328i convertible automatic transmission. I can't seem to find where to add tranny fluid. It seems to slip or lag when going from reverse to drive. Any help will be appreciated.

I would also check the Transmission 'switch' ( A / M) on center console next to your Shifter... My 328 just started this symptom... when changing from Rev. to Drive, it goes into 'Winter' mode.. (M) and feels like its slipping... Just press the "A" side of the button...and it should shift normally.. of course, then there's a problem with the switch ! bout $90... g

To check oil start vehicle in park and let idle, open large allen bolt [normally 17mm] on g/box sump, oil should spill from aperture. if not top up until it does. this must be done at a temperature of less than 30 degrees celsius as oil expands at higher temperatures.

How do I opened a fully automatic convertible top manually on a 1997 328i bmw

Most have a seperate crank to open and close top in case of an emergency ....If you have checked all fuses,relays,..etc..and know motor is broken you can remove the drive from the motor and raise it manually by hand with an assistant on the other side..

Check the fluid level in the tranny. If that is good try servicing the tranny with a new filter if that dosen't work I would think that the torque converter may be acting up.

F250 automatic transmission still slipping after it was rebuilt.

I would have your speed sensor checked out as they can send a false signal to the computer to make it think that the tranny is slipping and / or the torque converter is failing. Good luck and remember to rate all the solutions you get. Thanx.
