You'll need to check the fuel pressure with a pressure gauge to see if the pressure is within specs. Also check to see if it holds pressure after the motor is turned off. There is a fitting on the fuel rail to connect the pressure gauge to.

Engine cranks but wont start

1st thing is check to make sure you are getting spark to your spark plugs. If no spark then it is either your coil pack or engine control module. If you have spark, check your fuel pressure at your fuel rail. If you do not have good pressure than it is probably your fuel pump.

How many fuel pumps does my vauxwagon sharan have

First off, the AA mechanic that sprayed fuel into your intake to determine it is a fuel issue ONLY has determined that! It is a fuel issue! Fuel is delivered to the engine by your pump(s), then it is delivered into the combustion chambers by the injectors. So, what you need to do first is a test your fuel pressure! Most vehicles has a fuel check valve so you can hook a fuel pump tester up to see what the pressure is, some don't and you have to break into the fuel line to hook up the tester. If your getting good pressure 45-60lbs from the pump(s) then the problem is not the pump(s) it is going to be a issue with the injectors.
Now, I'm not saying the injectors are bad, they would have to be tested with a noid light to make sure they are getting a signal to fire. You have to go through a process of elimination to determine exactly what the issue is, it very well could be a pump issue or an electrical issue. Even if there is no fuel pressure from the pump, you then need to check to make sure the pump(s) is getting power. Hope this helps you. Oh, and as far as the fuel pumps, you are going to have 1 in the fuel tank(s). Follow the fuel line from there and if it has another pump you will find it. I'm not familiar with this model so I can't say for sure if it does have 2 pumps or not.

How do u determine if the fuel pump is bad?

Depending on the make model and year, you would probably check the fuel pump relay for power and ground.

Not getting fuel

Just because the fuel pump runs or makes noises causing you to believe it runs, does not mean it is performing properly. A fuel system pressure test needs to be perfomed to determine if the fuel pump is bad, the fuel filter is plugged, or the fuel pressure regulator is bad.

I have ran out of fuel with my 1996 Saturn SL so I put more fuel in it but now it will not start

its possible that the fuel pump over reved and burnt up. have a technician check the fuel pump pressure and determine if the fuel pump is bad. When a fuel pump is pumping fuel and then suddenly pumps air it sometimes will run too fast and break.

I have a 2004 dakota. how do I determine if my fuel pump is bad? it turns over and over but won't start. are they difficult to change?

Not bad as long as the fuel level is low, you will need to drop the fuel tank and remove the sending unit, the pump is part of the sending unit,to remove the unit remove the top lock ring, this is a plastic ring on top of the tank that hold the unit , hope this helps,6a943a8.gif

My 2500 chey silverodo starts hardfor the first 10

Hi, if it's a diesel engine, they all have to sit for some seconds because of the glow plugs. Some diesel don't send power to the starter until the glow plugs run for the pre-determined amount of time. There are many things that could be causing this. Fuel filter, clogged injectors, fuel pump going bad or bad connection to fuel pump. Try checking out for this things..
Take care
