You want a new one. It will cost you about sixty if your lucky. Hard to get it in and out of the small engine but you can do it. Its like three or four bolts and two wires. It attched to the transmission

you could remove the instrument cluster from the dash and unplug / remove the light, or go the easy way and use a piece of electrical tape and cover it. as far as disabling it I would think the only way would be to reprogram your ECM

You should replace the fuel filter and check for vaccum leaks. Also you should check the compression of your vehicle this might solve your problem.

Fuel pump or wiring, fuses, relay. Pump should run when cranking or running. Test for power to the pump if it isn't pumping. Think there should be a fp terminal in the diagnostic plug under the hood, supply battery power from b+ or battery, pump should go.
