It could be the ignition control module, bolted to the side of the distributor. Also check the pick up coil in the distributor.

AC compressor went out on 02 crown vic, car got hot. Replaced compressor, but now the coolant temp gauge does not register on dash.

Can you tell if the engine is warming up normally ? Do you know for a fact the cooling system is full ? The compressor should not have had any effect on the cooling system other than maybe the drive belt which runs the water pump.

1987 crwn vic 5.0 l, 302, Engine runs for 5-10 minutes and shut down. Cranks but will not restart. After 12-24 hrs car will start again and run for 5-10 minutes and process repeats. When the car shuts off...

this is tough, two things I can think of, the first is the coil, if it is not ground good there wont be a good spark or a defective coil,,,, but i am leaning more to it being the timing chain jumped a cog,,, the computer would start the engine advansed but as the engine warmed it would ****** the spark ,,, after 5-10 min. it would quit,, this I would if it si a higher milage car. My 1991 crown vic runs great till it gets warm..about 5 minutes, then starts to flood out and wont start back till next day ...then same thing....help!!!!

if it starts to flood it may be the coolant temp sender. it could also be the crank angle sensor. hope this helps.

1989 ford f150 w/ 5.0 liter..... engine light on

I would check the oil pressure of the engine. The reason is the timing chain tensioners are run with oil pressrue. I think your timing chain tensioners are leaking down when engine is getting to operating tempature . The oil is thinning down as warms up , as it should to lubercate . I would check compression and do a cylinder leak down test on all the cylinders. Then if the compression is good and the cylinder leak down is good. I would change all the timing components, ( chain, timing gears, timing chain tensioners )

Good Luck , I hope this helps.

Ford Crown Vic p0300 random cylinder misfire

take a look at the EGR valve it could be either vacum controlled or electronic either way what seems to be the problem is that the valve is stuck in the open position until the engine warms up you can gently tap the egr valve with a small hammer or a screw driver and you can see that it runs smooth, now if the egr valve is vacum controlled replace the valve. if it is electronoc controlled replace the valve and the module for the egr valve.
