Removing rear wheel bearings

I'm assuming this is not awd. Remove wheel, Brake drum. Remove 4 attaching bolts from the inside, Remove the wheel speed sensor, A slide hammer with a wheel flange works best as these don't like to come out. Using rust penetrant may help. If you are replacing bearings and not reusing, a hammer may help you. You may need to remove upper brake springs, and pull shoes apart slightly for clearance.

Wheel Bearings

Hello tclinch.
Your Grand Caravan has hub assemblies front and rear. Also if yours is all wheel drive it has a rear hub as well. Just different removal processes.
Hope your repair goes well for you.

Trying to remove rear brake drum cover, have already adjusted star wheel and still won't remove. what am i doing wrong? for a 93 plymouth grand voyager

  1. Raise and support the rear of the vehicle on jackstands.
  2. Remove the wheels and tire assemblies.
  3. Remove the brake shoe adjusting slot cover from the rear of backing plate.
  4. Insert a thin tool through the adjusting slot and hold the adjusting lever away from the star wheel.
  5. Insert an adjusting tool and back off the star wheel by prying downward with the tool.
  6. Remove the center hub dust cover, nut, washer, brake drum, hub and wheel bearings.
To install:
  1. Inspect the brake lining and drum for wear.
  2. Inspect the wheel cylinder for leakage. Service as required.
  3. Remove, clean, inspect and repack the wheel bearings.
  4. Install the brake drum and tighten the hub nut to 20-25 ft. lbs. (27-34 Nm), then back off the nut until bearing pressure is released.
  5. Retighten the nut finger tight, align the cotter pin hole and install the cotter pin.
  6. Adjust the rear brakes as described in the beginning of this section.

1999 plymouth Breeze 2.4 L wah wah sound from rear end and getting louder. 2 new back tires and 4 wheel alignment still makes wah wah noise and vibrates and wonders at high speeds, feels like the car is...

I would have the rear wheel bearings checked asap and rear brakes as well. Sounds like a very bad wheel bearing but also makes me wonder why the shop that did the tires and alignment for you didnt find this for you. After a alignment the car should be driven. So take it somewhere else and have the wheel bearings checked asap but be very carefull driving.
