I thought you were thinking of buying it? Scared me there for a minute. Your own truck, you have taken care of it, keep taking care of it. I know they sell extended warranties, but, it might cost you more than the repairs. I have 2 trucks out there that both have over 250,000 miles, and they are still going, but they are disposable now,if something happens, it's to the bone yard. Keep the oil change habit going, peek under the hood at regular intervals, don't go mountain climbing. And don't let the kids borrow it. It should last a while. Hope this helps. One more thing, keep an eye on the Cherokee forum for the latest repairs and updates.

Throttle body

Yes, this is really a periodic maintenance item. Even if a dirty throttle body was causing issues now, cleaning it would still be regular maintenance. If the cleaning did not clear up the problem, then you would probably be into a warranty claim, more easily handled if the dealer did the work.

What does service c mean in a mercedes r class

It means that it is time for the car to receive it's scheduled maintenance. Different Maintenances - A - B - C - cover different items. Maintenence is usually alternating, 13k miles, C Maintenance, 26k miles A maintenace, 39k miles C Maintenace again etc...

The C Maintence tells you and your service center what services to perform. Your local Mercedes dealer can tell you what exactly is invlolved in the C Maintenance for a 2006 E Class.

Bring up the FSS and check what service items are listed for the "C" service. The "C" only means that approx 3 hrs are required to perform the service. If the car is still under warranty, I believe the oil & filter will be free and the rest of the stuff will cost. Here's some instructions (PDF format).

Hope this helps (remember to rate this answer and leave some testimonial about this free answer).

My maintance light comes on is there a "do it yourself for this"? my care is a honda civic hatchback si.

Just to be clear, your maintenance light has illuminated and not the check engine light (CEL) . a CEL indicates that the car has detected a problem of some kind and depending on the severity of the fault it may be harmful to continue driving.

If it is the maintence light then that is easy. It is automatically set to come on at predetermined mileage marks to remind you to have the car serviced.

The maintenance required light is a reminder to bring the car in for scheduled maintenance (every 10,000 miles). The light will flash after start up for 10 seconds once you are 2000 miles from the car's scheduled maintenance. Once you pass the scheduled maintencance mark (every 10,000 miles) without having the maintenanced performed and/or the light reset by the dealer, it will remain on forever unless reset.

To reset it yourself

Hold down the trip meter button, turn the car to on, wait about 20 seconds, start the car, and let go of the button. Light is reset until the next mileage interval.

*make sure lo beam headlights are turned OFF during the procedure*

First to check with OBD codes reader, this is one advise to fault; when you have this number (code) the clues for solve the problem are more.

Try it, comment and rated this.

What to expect at 30K scheduled maintence-cost-wise/squeaking

Your owners manual will tell you what things they check and replace. At 30,000 miles the vehicle should still be under warranty, I believe vehicles now days come with 3 year, 36,000 mile warranty. Spark plugs are supposed to last 100,000 mile, so you should be looking at maybe an air filter, fuel filter, transmission fluid and filter, engine oil and filter. Squeaking noise may be brakes. Do you stop hard? Ask for an estimate before you let them attack your car.

Maintence required on red

Maintenance Required is a light that comes on after a predetermined number of miles. For example, if the maintenance schedule Honda set for the car calls for an oil change at 3000 miles, a new fan belt at 6000 miles, and another oil change at 9000 miles, then the maintenance required light will come on every 3000 miles and stay on until it is reset by the dealer. Some people, especially those that do their own regular maintenance but don't have a way to reset the light themselves, find this an annoyance. But others find it useful and take their cars in to the dealer every time the light comes on, and they rest assured that all of the regular maintenance is always done on time.

What this light does NOT do however is signal that there is anything immanently wrong with your car. It is not a "Check Engine" light (that's the one you should worry about if it ever comes on), but merely a reminder for you to do preventative maintenance. That doesn't mean you should *ignore* it, per se, as you want to make sure you have your car on some kind of maintenance schedule, even if yours is not as strict as Honda's. But there is no need to panic.

Should it be that expensive $600.00-$900.00 for the 100,000 miles maintence for my 2004 Saturn Vue

I work at a dodge chrysler jeep dealer, so I honestly don't know that you have a honda engine inside of a saturn vehicle, but I do know that dealerships are expensive. The belt itself isn't that expensive, but the labor is. A dealership would empty an ordinary person's bank account if they bough all the reccommended services. Transmission services or flushes would be helpful if you havent had one in a while, the timing belt is definitely needed, because if it breaks from old age, you could possibly damage your engine. I'm sure you keep your oil changed already. Spark plugs would be beneficial, maybe plug wires if you have them for your model. Maybe a regular fan belt and belt tensioner too, if you havent had that replaced yet. If He's offering the labor and parts all for 600, I would possibly consider that offer

I want to buy a land rover 2001 in UAE Dubai. one of the guys told me I will face a lot of problems for the electrical parts and suspension. The car is HSE type and millage is 112000 km or aroun 70000...

If you are buying the vehicle from a dealer then they should give you a guarentee on the vehicles condition. If you are buying the vehicle privately then i suggest taking the vehicle to a dealer for them to advise you on costs and repairs needed. If you are purchasing the vehicle at a good market price then it may be worth while spending a little money getting it reliable.
