Question about Volkswagen Golf
You've done everything else that would
normally be checked and verified, the timing belt and the timing. They are known for
problems with the tensioner and rollers on the belt, so have them check
that - Don't let them assume just because its a recent fitment - make
sure its stripped and checked.
After that - If there is nothing amiss there - then the problem is going to be down to the fuel / injector pump area. That would be the next area to be testing.

This could be a few different things. first we need to narrow it down a bit.
Loss of power how and when, all the time, just in the first part of eccelleration, ect...
This type of problem can be many things such as your Throttle body sensor, mass air flow sensor, those control your fuel and air mixture, if out of ballance this will create a loss of power and it will idle rough.
you could have low fuel pressure this could be a fuel pump, or fuel pressure regulator.
If you have a check engine light on take the car to a local parts store and have them plug in the computer and get any codes that may be in the system, this will help us narrow down the search as to what is wrong with your car.
