You've done everything else that would normally be checked and verified, the timing belt and the timing. They are known for problems with the tensioner and rollers on the belt, so have them check that - Don't let them assume just because its a recent fitment - make sure its stripped and checked.

After that - If there is nothing amiss there - then the problem is going to be down to the fuel / injector pump area. That would be the next area to be testing.

Tell us news.

This could be a few different things. first we need to narrow it down a bit.
Loss of power how and when, all the time, just in the first part of eccelleration, ect...
This type of problem can be many things such as your Throttle body sensor, mass air flow sensor, those control your fuel and air mixture, if out of ballance this will create a loss of power and it will idle rough.
you could have low fuel pressure this could be a fuel pump, or fuel pressure regulator.

If you have a check engine light on take the car to a local parts store and have them plug in the computer and get any codes that may be in the system, this will help us narrow down the search as to what is wrong with your car.
repost here and i will further assist you.

nice car a skoda ,2004 so its common rail and whats happening is a valve in the pump on the common rail injector where it draws the fuel up is defective and its allowing the fuel to run back to the tank ,quick solution is is to fit a non return valve in the in side and one on the return that will cure your problem and its cheaper than having the high pressure injector pump overhauled

'm new to the vw tdi, but if all your codes have been addressed, i'd look at  a bad injector as the bad boy.  i've solved some problems in my truck using an injector cleaner added to the fuel.  get the best, read the directions, and give it a try.  smoke means injectors not working properly to my trucker friends.
