Question about 1992 Dodge Stealth
A couple things come to mind:
Tail pipe back: Running rich, your o2 sensor may had failed. These cars are set to if the o2 sensor does fail the engine will run rich rather then lean. This is done to avoid burning up valves. Your manual should tell you how to check
Idle up and down: Your Idle switch (located in the throttle body) may be failing Or/plus the throttle body may be dirty. I'd remove Idle switch and clean it and throttle body with throttle body cleaner. Again your manual should explain how to check.
MAFL Mass Air Flow sensor (located at filter) may be dirty or not operating properly, clean and check.
Check fuel pressure: With varying idle and running issues the fuel pump or regualator may be an issue. Also, but doubtful, the fuel filter may be need of replacement (possible cheap fix)
LAstly your ECU Engine Control Unit may beginning to fail. The early 90"s Mitsubishi products had poor capacitors in them that with time would leak and fail; I've replaced three (3) on various Mitsubishi's. When the ECUs begin their death-spiral the car may come in to runability problems. Also your manual should show you how to check your ECU for failed sensors or such, I believe you cab use just a simple anaolg meter to check the ECU for issues.
Please let me know if this may have assited you,

it is non-interference. But it's a very close fit and if an engine is excessively carboned up that can be enough to cause interference.
