Question about 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe

1 Answer

My brakes go out every now and then the peddle goes all the way to the floor. Then when I turn the engine off and start it again they work. What is wrong? the people at the cheverolet place can't pin point the problem because they can't get it to mess up again. I'm scared to drive my truck!!

Hello. sometimes this can be caused by a bad wheel speed sensor. the sensors will make the truck think it has a wheel lock up and cause the abs to kick in and cayse the pedal to go to the floor

Breaks go to the floor

Then you have a massive leak somewhere as the brake peddle should not go all the way to the floor without some low break fluid indication. I would check brakes at each wheel as something isn't right or your not seeing it. Have someone pump the pedal and look to see if after the wheel is removed that the brake actually tightens and loosens. Remember that 4 wheels means 4 brakes, but master brake cylinder (where you add brake fluid) could be bad.

I get a hissing sound by my brake peddle when I apply my brakes and it does not go away. When I run the engine and depress the brake peddle and hold it there and turn the engine off the brake peddle...

Your bake booster has failed causing a massive vaccume leak when you apply the brakes. That in turn gives more air to the system so the computer tells it to add more fuel thus causing the rpms to go up. Replace it %99.5 chance that will fix it.

We replaced pads& callipers, bleed lines/ brake peddle goes to floor.brakes work but peddle still goes to floor.help!!!!!!!!!!!!

Check the vacuum hose going to the brake booster mounted on the firewall in front of the driver in the engine compartment. If that is intact and connected with no holes then the problem is the Master Cylinder.

2001 Chev blazer, brakes have been bled, peddle

You probably have air between the master cylinder and the abs pump. Fill the reservior and have someone pump the brake and bleed the primary lines at the abs pump. Good luck.

Spungy brake peddle and goes to the floor gm says nature of the beast stops ok but doesn't feel right

that is one of the wosrt ABS system it dose cause a soft peddle but you can sometimes adjust up the rear brakes to help this problem, also find a dirt road and slam on the brakes just enough to cause the ABS pump to kick on it will also give you a better peddle

Brake pedal goes to floor after bleeding the brakes many times

start off by pumping the peddle 25 times with engine off ... bleed the abs system (usually has bleeder valves near/on control unit). then bleed the rest as usual with engine off ... DO NOT turn the key on while bleeding abs brakes.
