I have tried to change the spark plugs myself but the plug wrench doesn't fit down into where the plug is. Is there a smaller socket or what. Thank you

There is only three types of sockets for the spark plugs. 16 mm-20.6 mm and some new japanise cars need of 14 mm sockets. All of them is with long bodies.

How to change the spark plugs on my 2009 Hyundai Sonata 4 cyl.

remove 1 spark plug wire from the plug. Find a socket that fits the spark plug and connect it to the socket wrench. Put the socket on the spark plug and turn counter clock wise until the old spark plug is removed. Check the gap on the new replacement plug ( make sure you have the correct plug first). Put the new spark plug into the hole that the old 1 came out of and turn clockwise by hand making sure it is in straight, then tighten it clockwise until tight.( WARNING: DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN THE PLUG OR YOU WILL BREAK IT). replace the spark plug wire. repeat the process with the other 3 spark plugs. Start the vehicle. If you are replacing the wires, take off 1 wire at a time, match up the size and replace the old with the new.

Take off the engine cover. Then remove the ignition cable from the spark plug. Then place a sparkplug wrench in. Be sure you have the right size. Consult your owner's manual for the right spark plug size.

I want to know how to service my 2000 Audi A3 myself. Oil change, oil filter change, plugs. What tools do I need?

You'll need some Metric wrenches and sockets and a rachet. Also, an oil filter wrench to fit your oil filter and a spark plug gapper. Don't forget to check the air filter and replace the fuel filter.

Changing spark plugs - need to remove intake manifold and should change gaskets...which ones?

To change a spark plug. 1.Disconnect the wire attached to the spark plug it would be wise to do only one at a time! 2.Take a long socket that will fit the spark plug 3.Attach to the socket wrench and turn counter clockwise until off. 4. Put the new spark plug in and hand screw until tight then turn the socket wrench clockwise until completely tight usually 1 1/2 turns. 5.Then reconnect the spark plug wire. Easy as that. Repeat steps 3-5 for the rest and remember ONE PLUG WIRE AT A TIME!

How to change spark plugs... 2003 ES300

Hi!

You need New Spark Plugs, Spark Plug Wrench Socket and Wrench Extension (at least 2-3 inch) size 10 socket and/or size 12 socket.
First of all, please check where the spark plug cover is. Once you figure that out there will probably be size 10 or/and 12 bolts holding it down. Take that off and there you will see sensors connecting to each other and holding the spark plug in the cylinders. Unplug all the sensors and pull out the circular plugs holding the spark plugs down. Pull them out and make sure that you don't drop anything into the cylinderes. You can look down into them and see the spark plugs. Get your spark plug wrench, extension, and socket wrench and stick them down in and push so that the spark plug wrench grabs them. Then unscrew the plugs, pull them out and put the next ones in and tighten them down. Just connect all the sensors, and put the cover back on.

Thanks for using FixYa and do rate if found this solution helpful.

Thanks
Rylee
