If you have the 4.2L it is located in a big black box behind the right headlight. If there is a bar over the box it must be removed. Three or four screws hold the box together .

My 2005 (v-8)envoy doesnt want to start when its cold out and sets over night or while work. It will turn over but wont fire up. after about three tries it finally will.

Sound like its time for a tune up. Plugs, wires,coil,cap and rotor,fuel filter,air filter. "Tis the season to be stranded fa la la la la da da da da" cold starts are often the results of a needed tune up. HTH

Mass airflow sensor is located in the air filter tube it is square with a 3 wire harness

Where is the Air Pump Located on a 2005 GMC Envoy?


The air pump in a 2005 envoy is located next to the frame approximately underneath the driver's feet. You will see rubber hoses coming down into this component.

How to replace fuel filter on 2005 GMC Envoy

First check to see if you have a fuel filter. It will be located between tank and engine. Apparently, some Envoys do not have a filter, just a screen mounted on underside of fuel pump which is in fuel tank.

Where is the air filter located on a 2005 envoy?

There is a big black box on left side of vehicle when standing in front and looking at engine. There may be a bar across this box, remove it and all screws holding top of box to bottom. Filter is in there.
