It is weird that all the items in that one box are the ones that are causing the problem. Yes, we did check the ones under the hood.

Have you checked the fuses in the under hood fuse box? Sounds like you have a blown Maxi-fuse or a bad ignition switch.

What works when you shut the glove box Rosalinax290? The blower? Do you have the same Year Malibu?

My husband pulled the Maxi Fuses and they all looked good. He even replaced them and we still have the problem.

I was wondering if the fuses had power on them when the components didn't work. When they quit, do they all quit at the same time? I'm thinking you might have a bad ignition switch.

The problem started with the cruise. Intermittant at first. Then the driver's window went down and wouldn't roll back up. After shutting the car off and restarting it, the window rolled back up. Then the fan wouldn't blow. Then it started blowing. Then the cruise started acting up again. After about 2 weeks of the intermittant problems, they finally all acted up at the same time and here we are now!
Everything we are having the problem with is in the same fuse box. We thought maybe there was a short in that particular box. Then we thought maybe there was a maxi fuse or relay bad under the hood in that box. Now, my husband thinks there is something in the box under the hood that is NOT sending power to the box on the passanger side of the car! Bad thing is, our daughter drives this car with her 2 babies...we live in Ohio....and it is getting hot here. She can't drive it with no a/c or windows that roll down!

Is the drivers window the only one that acts up?

  • brenda740 May 30, 2010

It was the ignition switch. THANKS A MILLION!!!!! $100 fix and my husband was able to install it himself. HUGE SAVINGS!!!

Heater stopped working. Blower comes on for about 30 seconds then turns off

On the passenger side of the dash thereis a fuse block. Find the HVAC blower fuse. Start the car, turn on the blower, and check for power at that fuse. If power disappears when the blower stops than you have a bad ignition switch.

Gmc 2500 truck work blower does not work at all

Check your fuses for the blower motor. If they are ok, it is probably the blower fan resistor which is located on or next to the blower fan assembly under the passenger side dash in the footwell. if resistor is bad, there will be no fan speeds. make sure you are getting power to fan motor, if power but fan does not work then its the fan. check fuses and fan resistor first. good-day !

Blower stopped working on my 2003 bonneville could it be a fuse and if so where is the fuse box

It could be a fuse. Fuses under the back seat.
Chances are that it's the blower itself. Pretty typical for our generation of Bonneville. I have a 2005 GXP and replaced the blower at about 75,000 miles. I can't remember the car before that I had to replace a blower... maybe 20 years ago?

Anyway, the blower is under the passenger dash.
Remove the panel under the passenger side dash; I recall two small screws.
There may be a couple wires to unplug from this panel.
The blower motor is located right above the passenger toes.
Unplug the three wire plug.
Remove a small rubber hose. It has one right angle bend. It's about the size and length of a big thumb.
Remove 3 small screws on the fan, and the fan comes out.

Blower motor to heat and defroster does not work

you may only have a blown heater blower fuse, look in the fuse box for a blown fuse.check both fuse boxes, including the black fuse box under the hood. if fuses are good, try tapping on the fan box on driverside under dash, sometimes leaves get in it and stop it up. if you don't find the fan box under passenger side dash, look under hood on passenger side on firewall. hope this helps and thank you for choosing fixya.com

Ac isnt turning on. I turn the tempature control on and turn ac on but the hole unit doesnt work, i dont know if its the fuses or the ac unit itself.

if youre saying no fan, check the blower resistor down under the dash under the passenger side (relatively inexpensive) also check your fuse panels on either side of the dash for the blower fuses to be sure they are good as well.

Hello,

The blower motor, as you have probably seen, is under the dash on the passengers side. While in Park with the parking brake applied:

Turn the Key On with fan blower set to High. Locate the blower motor and wiggle the electrical connector. If this brings the blower motor to life, a new blower motor is needed. This, if applicable, is a common failure that matches your symptoms. The new blower is simple to replace, although it is never fun working under the dash.

If you have a 12 volt test light or DVOM (multimeter) you can check for power at the electrical connector. You should have battery voltage (12+) with the blower set on high. Always use a known good ground when testing for power. If you have power (key on, set to high) and no blower operation the blower motor needs replacing.

The resistor you replaced is a very common failure on these.

Give me an update.

Heater does not blow out any air

There is a fuse panel under the dash on the driver's side and the maxi-fuse box is under the hood on the driver's side. If the fuses are good, it is probably the blower fan which is located under the dash on the passenger's side. (Behind the glove box.)

2002 Chevy Malibu (Radio fuse)

There is a panel on the passengers side of the car, I pulled the fuse used for OnStar because I dont use it. I didn see any labling on mine but it was the fuse located second from the top on the left side, but you have to be looking at it side ways because of the way the fuse box is orientated.
And then put it in the socket all the way to the right second from the bottom, again looking at it sideways. NOTE: My car is a 2006 Malibu LT
