2006 Cadillac CTS brake lights out but bulbs are fine

My brake lights are out. Center brake light over trunk works fine. All bulbs work fine in all other modes. Replaced the BAS relay and it didnt fix the problem. Cannot find a brake light fuse listed in the manual. Can anyone solve this without me having to take it to the dealer in another town?

Take it to any local repair shop.

The ABS Relay,is for the system pump motor, nothing to do with lighting circuits.

Check brake switch !

Do you know where the abs relay is located in a 2006 cadillac cts?

The solution is simple: Each tail light has two identical dual filament lamps part number 3157K. if one is blowen, the brake light circuit cannot complete and both the upper and the lower brake lights will not work. The solution: replace both the upper and the lower lamps.
This has nothing to do with relays, swithes, turn signals or any of the other "solutions" offered.

My brake lights went out on my 2006 cadillac cts. i checked the bulbs and the are fine. I located the fuse box under the back seat but have no clue which one to change.

If all the brake light went out at the same time, then i would look at the brake switch. this is located along the brake pedal somewhere. remove it and play with it and see if will get them going again. if you do get the lights to start working, replace the switch. good luck.

Hello! I have a 2005 Cadillac CTS-V Both the right and left brake lights stopped working at once. The center brake light on the trunk still works. I was googling to see how to change the bulbs but it...

I assume the solution is the same in a CTS as a CTS-V. Remove the plastic molding facing the rear. There are four plastic screws, Unscrew and lift the spare tire cover. Unscrew plastic screws on carpet covering quarter panels pull back for room to work. Each light assembly has two nuts, remove these and assembly will slide out for easy replacement. Since both lights stopped at once, the fuse may be the issue. The fuse box is under the rear seat cushion, behind the driver. Pull the seat up and forward. Pull levers out on each side of fuse box cover and lift. The diagram is inside the fuse box cover. It'll take a 15V. Note: Please take care in replacing and seat and proper seat belt placement. While you're in the backseat, check all the fuses, there's a second fusebox on the passenger side. Also, check floor behind driver's seat for wetness and water. That could cause a short as well. Good luck!

Rear brake lights inoperative . The upper brake light on trunk deck works, but the lower lights in the main assemblies are inoperative.

That is a little strange, but could be just bulbs have blown. Switch must be ok if high mount works, so check bulbs first. Unless there is a separate fuse you could check that too.

Brake lights not working, trunk light does work, how do I fix this probem

Check the fuse for the tail lights, if fuse ok, check the brake light switch under dash near top of brake pedal, might be bad.

Hello,
I have 2006 cadillac CTS 2.8 v6. Two side brake lights went out and don't work only when you use brake pedal, when i use the alarm on the car they flash like they should so the lights are fine. The light in the middle works fine so do the turn signals.
