1998 Honda CRV Drivers side window(power) will not go up. I push the switch and I can hear the motor going. Could the glass have slipped off. Any suggestions.

You will need to replace the the motor and arm that operates the window up and down.
If you can hear the motor run but nothing happens, this means that the cable attached to the motor has broken. You can replace this part as a unit.

Rear passenger window won't roll up after I rolled it down I can hear the motor but nothing happens. I can't even pull the window back up with my hands.

These models are prone to corrosion of the winder cable mechanism due to water ingress from the window rubber seals being poor so, the money is on a broken winder cable. Hope this helps

95 riviera drivers window wont go down

Could be a couple of things: the first two apply ONLY to POWER WINDOWS:
1-window switch went bad (not common but it happens)
2-window motor only works one direction (even more rare, but still has happened)
3-window regulator defective(power windows-maybe broken cable or mechanism; manual crank window regulator-broken mechanism.

If you have power windows:
Do you hear the motor running or binding when trying to roll window down? bad regulator
No noise? switch or motor

You need to remove your door panel to see and access the interior operating components. When you get that far you'll most likely see something obviously broken.

Then you'll need to examine the regulator and see if it has a broken cable or other binding parts.

Not a big deal to replace the window motor or regulator, but requires a little patience and manual dexterity.

Hope this helps.

If the lock is trying to move, like you hear it but nothing really happens, replace the door lock actuator. i believe the windows are on the same fuse. Try removing the interior door trim and tap on the window motor lightly with a small hammer while holding the switch. If the window moves, replace the motor. If not, check for power and ground at the connector. If you have power and ground (which switch when going up then down) then replace the motor. If you dont, repair the circuit.

How do you remove the power window motor on a 2003 avalanche

AFTER REMOVING THE DOOR PANEL, REMOVE THE WINDOW REGULATOR. LOOK AT THE CABLES ON THE REGULATOR, THEY TEND TO SHRED AND BALL UP IN THE PULLEYS. IF THIS IS OK, REMOVE THE 3 BOLTS HOLDING THE MOTOR ONTO THE REGULATOR. HOLD THE MOTOR TIGHTLY AGAINST THE REGULATOR UNTIL YOU ARE READY TO REMOVE IT, THERE IS A SPOOL UNDER THE MOTOR THAT WILL UNWIND QUICKLY IF YOU JUST PULL ON THE MOTOR. YOU WILL BE REPLACING THE WHOLE ASSEMBLY AT THAT POINT. SO CAREFULLY SEPARATE THE MOTOR FROM THE SPOOL HOLDING DOWN ON THE SPOOL.

Power Window on passenger side not working

It either needs a new window motor or switch. To tell which, you can open the door, have the ignition in the on positon or running, hold up or down on the window switch (whichever way it needs to go), and slam the door pretty hard while holding the switch. If the window works, it needs a motor/regulator assembly. If not, look at wiring or switch. If you can hear the motor running, and nothing happens, you need a motor/regulator assembly.

2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee driver power window will not lift.

These Jeeps are notorious for the power window regulators failing. I have also seen it on other Chrysler products (Durango). My 2001 Grand Cherokee has had both front windows fail for the same reason.
Here's what happens:
The windows are raised and lowered by a small cable driven by an electric motor. The cable is held in place by a small, weak, plastic part molded into the mechanism. Over time the plastic weakens and eventually breaks, releasing the cable. This is usually when raising the window. Since there is now nothing holding the window up, it falls to the bottom of the door. Try as you might, the window is not coming up.
If this happens DO NOT ATTEMPT TO RAISE OR LOWER THE WINDOW. YOU WILL CAUSE MORE DAMAGE. It is possible to repair this for next to nothing if you stop trying to use the window. It will take a small amount of mechanical skills to pull it off but it can be done.
Remove the interior door panels. There are several plastic clips and a few screws. Be careful not to break the clips.
Remove the entire window regulator. This can be tricky.
Now disassemble the regulator and wind the cable up correctly on the pulley. If the cable or the pulley is destroyed from attempting to raise the window, you may have to buy a new regulator.
The cheap fix - Using heavy wire (hanger works great) form a small U-shaped loop about 1 inch long. Use this loop to hold the end of the cable in place on the window bracket (the part that broke). Slip the "U" around the cable and through the hole on the metal bracket. Bend the wire around the back side to hold it in place.
Before reinstalling everything, connect the electrical components and test for functionality.
I have fixed 3 of these using this method. 3 years later, still working good as new.
