Question about 1994 Honda Accord

Describe your 94 honda accord %2B new

The car will not start after a heavy rains. The dealer says it is my ecu computer. That will cost about 925 new and 355 used. Is that reasonable? Is it something I can do myself? Can the old one be repaired?

The dealer is mistaken! Your problem is probably the PGMFI relay that is way up under the dash on the driver's side. It has "mitsuba" written on the side of it. They are a very common problem, so are the distributors. Replace the relay first before doing anything else. They are cheap and always fail so even if I'm wrong, you're going to need it soon anyway. The computers rarely fail.

I have a 94 honda accord dx it runs great tell i try to pass some one or im getting on the free way when the rpms get to 3500 the needel starts to jump and the car spits ond spuders and the cheek eng

could be a mass air flow sensor problem or a crank sensor but its difficult to say as if and when the engine light comes on and you could read the codes as this vehicle is too old to have a OBDII connection then i would be inclined to suspect the computer or ECU but the only way to find out is to back the vehicle to a dealer who has the software to check it out and i do feel the cost of repair is greater than the value of a 94 car which is 18yrs old at the end of the day .

The wrong ecu was in it i changed it to the right one after that ther was no vtech and the car stalls sometimes its a motor swap the motor is an accord but its in a 94 prelude. and the car jerks back and...

The car is probably in limp mode, which means that it is just goign to run well enough to get you off the road. You are probably going to have to go to the dealer and have ecu re-flashed.

There is a little plastic piece in your brake pedal that hits the switch to turn the brake lights off. These pieces wear out over time and need to be replaced, they should cost $5 or less at the Honda dealer. They pop in very easily. Just describe your problem to the parts guy and he should know exactly the piece you need. Good luck
