Question about 1995 Nissan Maxima

2 Answers

1995 Maxima - vacuum line route I replaced the coolant sensor and removed a vacuum line and subsequently lost the line. The line is near the transmission stick. The picture at http://www.fixya.com/uploads/Images/03DB1A6.jpg shows the line in the left hand corner with the plastic (white) intra-line connector and below the thumb. I need to figure out where the line is supposed to terminate. The left side is where I need to figure out. Thanks.

Good idea. We will give that a try. If someone has the endpoint for the line shown, I would appreciate hearing from you.

Hi jbriner,
the fastest and best way to get the exact answer you need for your vehicle - specificially for you exact car ] they change so many things now - mid year] is to take your VIN# to the dealer - ask them to print out exactly what you need. It id FREE and while you're there please ask the dealer about RECALLSf

I was not finished -and I had just hit back to type more after removing the f - oh well - anyway - -

Go to the dealer and ask for a PRINT OUT for your vin number for the hoses. Most likely the dealer will put it back on for FREE. Dealers are getting very friendly as they were a lot of them shut down based on consumer complaints about service. So ask about RECALLS and also about SERVICE BULLETINS as this can save you thousands of dollars over the years.

Sorry about the glitch in the software.

    There you have it

Here is a an actual picture of the vacuum line of the 95 Maxima (non-california) engine.

I feel a place where a connector might be near the firewall and left-front tire. Perhaps connected to the air intake system. It is about 18 inches below the air filter. However, it is further away than I remember.

I have a '95 Maxima, Car cranks for a long time before starting cold, I have to restart it a couple times, after that it runs perfect till it warms up then it continually gets worse till it's near...

Your catalitic convertor is plugging up. you need to replace it. Also you need to find out why it got that way. Could be bad vacuum lines. some sort of vacuum leak after the throttle body/ carb.

My 1995 chevy van blows out cold air when i have the heat on

The hoses to the heater core may have been re-plumbed to by-pass the heater core (a temporary fix to a leaking heater core)...so verify that hoses are routed properly. If they are, check coolant fluid level....when it is gone...the heater will not blow hot, and you will likely burn up the engine (if coolant is gone...temp gage may not register "hot" because there is not fluid for the temp sensor to measure. Also...you may have a broken/cracked vacuum line (the valves for switching where the air gets directed are typically vacuum controlled) Hope this helps.
