EOBD code: P0700 = Transmission control system, Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) request - circuit malfunction. Probable cause: Wiring, Engine Control Module (ECM) / power Control Module (PCM) / Traction Control Module (TCM)
EOBD code: P0730 = Incorrect gear ratio. Probable cause: Wiring, TR sensor/switch, shifts solenoids, transmission mechanical fault.

Thank you for those answers. My problem is my mechanic thinks that i have to get a rebuilt transmission and this one cant be fixed. But if I have replaced 2 different ones and the same thing happened they went into limp mode its not both transmissions right? Can you please suggest on where to go from here. Do I have to check all those things out or is there a computer that can get more detailed information on these codes?

Today does not exist a computer with solutions for everything, only professional diagnostic scantools dedicated to Traction Control Module (TCM) in depth investigations. If you have been replaced 2 different transmissions in yours car and problem is still there, it's clear that not gearbox is bad. Then you must inspect one by one all those things above mentioned, eventual using a diagnostic scantool connected to the Data Link Connector (DLC) of the car. Check patient every component involved in this case: wiring, Engine Control Module (ECM) / power Control Module (PCM) / Traction Control Module (TCM), TR sensor/switch, shifts solenoids.

My car is stuck in gear.

Hi.

If we are talking about automatic transmission stuck in park position, then the problem is the solenoid switch that unlocks the gear shift lever when brake pedal is pressed. The switch is located behind the brake pedal.
When the problem is the solenoid the brake lights usually do not work.
A definitive test on the switch is done by jumping the switch contacts to bypass the brake pedal switch.

If the brake pedal switch is not the problem, or if an automatic transmission is stuck in a different gear, then the first step in troubleshooting is scanning the ECU (car computer) for codes. If there is a code P0700 stored, that means that more codes are stored in the TCM (transmission control module). The TCM is the computer module controlling the transaxle, and can be tested at any authorized garage. See: I get code p0700 after an OBDII scan.
There are many possible reasons for automatic transmission malfunctions. Most common reasons (that can also cause lock in one gear) are discussed here:My car does not shift in second gear.
If you are lock in park, check the pedal switch and brake lights as a first thing.

If you have a manual transmission stuck in any gear, it is usually the gear shaft broken or detached from the hub. In that case the gear shaft must be replaced.

Tip

I get code p0700 after an OBDII scan.

P0700 Transmition Control system is the transmission control module.
The transmission control module is a separate computer module, you need to read codes stored on transmission control module.

If there are no transmission code stored, then there is a bad Transmission Control Module (TCM) ground circuit or a bad TCM. In that case the ground to TCM must be tested, and TCM eventually replaced.

Faults that can cause troubles when shifting from first to second gear are : transmission fluid, speed sensor, TPS, transmission shift solenoid, gear box problem, TCM, neutral switch, torque converter problem.

The best thing to do is scanning TCM codes.

Transmission will not shift stuck in second gear! Speedometer does not work & I have replaced both the input & output speed sensors on the transmission & neither still works! I have a 97 Plymouth Grand...

the check engine light should be on with a code P0700 present. This means that the transmission control module has codes in it. You will need a high end scan tool (not an OBDII code reader) to get those codes. Once you know what those codes are post them here and I'll be happy to assist you further.

My 05 Pacifica went into "limp in" mode which means it is stuck in 2nd gear. I took it to AutoZone and put it on the code machine. It pulled up P0700, P0715, P0731 and P0733. I changed out hte Speed Sensor...

Well code 700 is a generic code that means there is a problem with the transmission or the control module. Code 731 is for a problem with first gear which would explain why it stays in second gear.
Someone will need to check the circuits involved with first gear and the trans control module. A shop manual will be necessary to get the testing procedures.

My dodge caravan 3.3L shows 5 malfunction codes what do they mean po455 po846 po500 po700 po732

P0455 = Evap leak monitor large leak detected.
This code usually means the gas cap may have been loose or needs the rubber gasket.

P0500 = No vehicle speed sensor signal.
Vehicle speed sensor is located on the transmission near one of the axle shafts (it may need replacing).

P0700 = EATX controller DTC present.
This simply means you have transmission related codes.

P0732 = Gear ratio error in 2nd gear.
This code is of some concern, it means the transmission is slipping in 2nd gear. However the trans may be in limp mode due to the speed sensor code (limp mode means the trans starts out in second gear in order to at least get to a mechanic). The first thing I would do is have these codes cleared as there may be absolutely nothing wrong with the transmission (especially if you pull the trans dip stick and the fluid does not have a burnt smell. The vehicle should drive normally after that. If the check engine light comes back, have the codes scanned ASAP (before any other unrelated code sets). Chances are it may be the output speed sensor if this happens (easy fix). Hope this helps

My daughter's 2002 Noen CEL came on. I retrieved a number of DTC codes that all related to the tranny. Upon the advice from an on line auto repair expert I replaced the TCS, replaced teh tranny filter and...

I am not familar with the Neon transmission. All the codes you retrieved are related to a sensor on/in the transmission. P0870 Trans Fluid Press Sensor/Switch C Circuit. If that is defective, then the other codes are related to it, P0731 & 32 1st and 2nd gear. P0700 Trans Control Sys Malfunction. Hope this helps.
