Check the fuse/relay panel inside car on drivers side and under the hood for a blown fuse or bad relay. With the key turned to the on position listen for the fuel pump to come on. Use an inline spark tester to check for fire from the coil to the spark plug wires. If you have not serviced the car in quite a while.then change the plugs and check the air filter, oil, antifreeze in car. Hope this will help.

I have a 2002 hyandai elantra Sls I have a bad oil leak on drivers side it's pooling up on transmission it is def motor oil and I know the head gasket is leaking but I don't think it would spray oil would...

I would say to you, first get some engine cleaner spray on that area of the engine and hose off. This will give you a much better idea of where oil is coming from. I think you may have a very bad valve cover gasket. When you drive the car the oil leakage will be more visible. GOOD LUCK FRIEND.

Check the:
- Fuel pump pressure and regulating valve.
- Check the ignition system.

are you losing electrical power when the car while driving it? like head lights or turn signal or radio. if so it is probably the the terminal conections on your battery. it happened to me with my saturn. and turned out it was corrosion inside the pos. battery cable. when the cable got hot it caused resistance and loss of voltage to the engine.

Dont like me to tell you this, but sounds like you have a blown head gasket.

Two choice:
1. Inspect the Head Gasket; Cause: head gasket leaking coolant into cylinders
2. inspect the Engine; Cause: Cracked block leaking coolant into cylinders.

Coolant is not a flammable liquid, therefore a lot of coolant in cylinder creates starting problem. You should check your engine and the coolant system for this issue.

The first thing you can do is check the oil dipstick - you're looking for a milky brown color as opposed to a dark brown (normal) color for oil - unless you've recently had an oil change - then it will be like honey. If you don't see any discoloration - I would then look around the the bottom of the area where the valve covers are located - the valve covers sit atop the heads and if you have a "blown" head gasket - you may see evidence of water/coolant seepage. You can also take the vehicle to a mechanic, who can do a simple test using air pressure to isolate a potential gasket issue.

Good luck (remember rated this post).

My car is leaking antifreeze and overheating

MOST OF THE TIME WHEN CAR IS LEAKING ANTIFREEZE.CHECK ALL RADIATOR HOSES AND AROUND THE RADIATOR ON THE SIDES AND FRONT AREA WHERE COOLANT FAN IS.BUT BE CAREFUL DONT PUT HAND NO WHERE AROUND COOLING FAN.BECAUSE IT COULD COME ON WHILE YOUR HAND IS NEAR YOU CAN GET INJURED.ALSO CHECK AROUND WATER PUMP GASKET AND WEEP HOLE FOR LEAKING.IF YOU FIND NO LEAKS THEN YOUR HEAD GASKET LEAKING.CHECK ENGINE OIL IF OIL LOOK LIKE MILK SHAKE YOU HAVE HEAD GASKET LEAK.

hi, it sounds like the head gasket has gone take out the spark plugs and check for signs of water also check the oil for signs of water as this to me looks and sounds like the head gasket has failed and will need replacing.

If water is not present then try starting the car with the coolant filler cap off and see if it starts if it does then this is head gasket failure if it still dont start then your going to need to get a compression test done and then this will tell you if the gasket is good or bad but to me it sounds like head gasket failure.

If the gasket needs replacing then you need to also check the water pump is working and also test the thermostat as any of these failing can cause the head gasket to blow again so make sure you get these checked ok.

Let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok

Overheating in really hot part of day and especially with Ac

The block sealer you used may have been too thick or too big. A leaking head gasket or cracked head is a rare cause for a cylinder misfire. Tryin putting a manufacture gasket back on and change the spark plugs. If that doesnt work, try checking your valves or pistons-- maybe you have worn valve guides or your cylinder wall is worn out.

Oil around spark plugs on 1992 honda accord

Yes the oil can cause the car to lose spark, the oil leak could be caused by the valve cover gaskets around the spark openings, but 9 times out of 10 it is the spark plug tube "O" rings. The top of the valve train comes off of the head, the "O" rings are between the two halves, that will fix the oil leak.

I am having trouble with my speedometer not working occasionally and now my seat belt light is coming on sometimes too. Is this the instrument panel cluster? Or something else? 1998 Dodge Neon. Backstory is as follows: -We take very good care of it and have one dedicated mechanic. -It has only had two owners; my parents and I. -We replaced the battery 2 months ago. -Mechanic checked to make sure the speedometer sensor was working. -We have had issues with the radio for years where it will randomly turn on and off, typically brought on by a stuffed trunk OR wet weather. -The speedometer works until we hit a bump and then the needle flies up and down or sometimes just stops working all together. -Mechanic has made mention of there being some Chrysler specific battery cable that is a smaller side cable and it is not in good condition. -Currently, my problem is that I can't find an old 1998 Dodge Neon in the salvage yard because yards are doing a lot of 2002 and newer vehicles and automatically crushing the others. The meat and potatoes of my question is what direction do I go in? And what of these symptoms ties to each other? And will adding new solder to the points on the panel fix it or is it something else? I'm trying to find least expensive to most expensive options and I'm rather handy but can't drop an engine or transmission or anything so keep this in mind. My handiness ends at resoldering the pins BUT I do have a mechanic I trust, but I fear that maybe I'm not combining symptoms properly. I have the money to repair an item I KNOW is wrong but not to chicken hunt around for problems.
