2010 BMW 528XI Garage Door Opener Homelink Setup

**** >>> This setup I performed with my new 2010 BMW 528XI Garage Door Homelink and Chamberlain Garage Door Opener <<< ****

Chamberlain:
01. Power off or unplug the garage door opener motor power supply (which is mounted on ceiling of the garage) ;;;

02. keep the garage door opener transmitter in your hand (do not press any button at this time) ;;;

03. In your 2010 BMW 528XI Homelink button (which resides under rear view mirror) press the 1st and 3rd homelink button together for about 30-40 seconds (i.e., until the yellow light blinks fast) and when the yellow light next to the homelink button blinks fast release from pressing the (homelink) buttons ;;;

04. now hold the garage door opener transmitter closer (means within 2-4 inches) to the homelink button (either 1st or 2nd or 3rd) whichever you are planning to program to open the garage door ;;;

05. now press the garage door opener transmitter button and chosen homelink button (either 1st or 2nd or 3rd whatever you need) together ;;;

06. the yellow light (next to homelink button) initially may blink slowly but after few seconds (may be 10-20 seconds) will blink fast; once it started blinking fast release from pressing both garage door opener transmitter and homelink button ;;;

07. Now plug or power on the main garage door opener motor (which is mounted on garage ceiling) ;;;

08. On the main garage door opener motor (which is mounted on garage ceiling) press the "LEARN" button (once you press it may have yellow/orange color light; make sure the light is on) ; then within 30 seconds do the next steps #9, #10, #11 very carefully ;;;

09. go to your car and press the homelink button you programmed and hold it for 4 seconds and then release it --> 1st iteration ;;;

10. again hold the same homelink button you programmed and hold it for 4 seconds and then release it --> 2nd iteration ;;;

11. again hold the same homelink button you programmed and hold it for 4 seconds and then release it --> 3rd iteration ** important note; generally three iterations are not necessary; and steps #9, #10, #11 must be performed within 30 seconds ** ;;;

12. during one of the iteration you will hear "CLICK" sound one-time from Garage door motor (which is mounted on ceiling) and if you have light attached with it; it will blink once (** if you hear the CLICK sound and/or light blinks once**) then the particular homelink button is programmed ;;;

13. now press the programmed homelink button; the garage door will open or close (but always it will take 3 or 4 blinks in yellow light or 2-3 seconds before the garage door opens or closes and which is normal) ;;;

** Thats it, your 2010 BMW 528XI Garage Door Opener Homelink setup is complete ** ;;;

You can program rest of the homelink button the same way but following from the steps between #4 and #13 ;;;

Hope this steps will help you to program chamberlain Garage door opener in 2010 BMW 528XI Homelink. ;;;

** possibly the above same steps may work with other BMW 5-series cars homelink too (but I'm not sure) **

I don't have the owner's manual for my 2002 GMC Yukon XL Denali. Do you know how to program the garage door opener?

I hope this helps.

Programming the HomeLink Transmitter
Do not use the HomeLink Transmitter with any garage
door opener that does not have the stop and reverse
feature. This includes any garage door opener model
manufactured before April 1, 1982.
Be sure that people and objects are clear of the garage
door you are programming.
It is recommended that a new battery be installed in
your hand-held transmitter for quicker and more
accurate transmission of the radio frequency.
Your vehicle's engine should be turned off while
programming the transmitter. Follow these steps to
program up to three channels:
1. Decide which one of the three channels (one of the
HomeLink buttons) you want to program.
2. Press and hold the desired button on HomeLink
through Step 3.
3. When the HomeLink indicator light begins to blink
slowly (this may take up to 30 seconds), hold the
hand-held transmitter about 1 to 3 inches (3 to 8 cm)
away from HomeLink and then press and hold the
transmit button on the hand-held transmitter.
Continue to hold both buttons until the indicator
light on HomeLink begins to flash rapidly (this may
take up to 90 seconds).
If you have trouble programming HomeLink, make
sure that you have followed the directions exactly as
described and that the battery in the hand-held
transmitter is not weak. If you still cannot program it,
move the hand-held transmitter to the left or right or
forward or backward or flip it upside down. HomeLink
may not work with older garage door openers that do
not meet current Federal Consumer Safety Standards.
If you cannot program the transmitter after repeated
attempts, refer to "Training a Garage Door Opener with
Rolling Codes" later in this section or contact the
manufacturer of HomeLink at 1-800-355-3515,
or on the internet at www.homelink.com.
Be sure to keep the original hand-held transmitter in
case you need to erase and reprogram HomeLink.

Training a Garage Door Opener with a
"Rolling Code" Feature (If Equipped)
If you have not previously programmed the hand-held
transmitter to HomeLink, see "Programming the
HomeLink Transmitter" listed previously. If you have
completed this programming already, you now need to
train the garage door opener motor head unit to
recognize HomeLink.
1. Find the "Learn" or "Smartbutton" on the garage
door opener motor head unit. The exact location and
color will vary by garage door opener brand. If you
have difficulty finding the Learn or Smart button,
refer to your garage door opener owner's manual or
contact the manufacturer of HomeLink at
1-800-355-3515, or on the internet at
www.homelink.com.
Because of the steps involved, it may be helpful
to have another person assist in programming
the transmitter.
2. Press the Learn or Smart button on the garage
door opener motor head unit. An indicator light will
begin to flash when the motor head unit enters the
training mode.
Following this step, you have 30 seconds to
start Step 3.
3. Return to HomeLink in your vehicle and firmly
press and release the programmed HomeLink button
three times.
The rolling-code garage door opener should now
recognize HomeLink. You may either use HomeLink
or the hand-held transmitter to open the garage door.
If after following these instructions, you still have
problems training the garage door opener, contact the
manufacturer of HomeLink at 1-800-355-3515,
or on the internet at www.homelink.com.

Program garage door opener in 2005 rx 330

There are 3 programmable Homelink buttons you can use for different remotes. Just to the right of the buttons there is an indicator light.

Decide which button you want to program. Point the none battery end of your remote 1"-3" away from the Homelink panel and press both the remote and desired Homelink button down and hold them down at the same time. After about 20 seconds, the Homelink indicator light will change from a slow flashing to a rapid flashing. You can then release both buttons,
If the garage door responds to the Homelink, your done! If not, your garage door uses a rolling codes transmitter and must be trained.
Find the training button on your garage door opener's transmitter (usually mounted on the ceiling). Press the training button and within 30 seconds press and release the programmed Homelink button twice. If the garage door opener operates, you're done! If not, press and release the Homelink button a third time and the garage door should respond. If it still does not, you may have a very old garage door opener with a none digital transmitter (like I did). In that case, you either need to buy a new opener or try to replace the transmitter with a modern digital unit (as I did). Advantage: cheaper than a whole new garage door opener.
Disadvantage: The newer openers incorporate safety features that my old opener does not have.

Program 2004 mercury mountainer garage opener

Verify the hand-held transmitter is operative.
Prepare for programming the universal transmitter by erasing all three channels (hold down the two outside buttons until the red light begins to flash [20-30 seconds]). Release both buttons.
Select one of the three universal transmitter channels to be programmed by pressing the desired button
Hold the end of the hand-held transmitter 25-51 mm (1-2 in) from the front surface of the universal transmitter so that the red light can still be seen
Use both hands to press the hand-held transmitter button and the desired button on the universal transmitter. Do not release either button.
Hold down both buttons until the red light on the universal transmitter flashes, first slowly and then rapidly. Release both buttons when the rapid flashing begins. The universal transmitter has successfully learned the new frequency signal and can be used in place of the hand-held transmitter(s).
If the hand-held transmitter appears to program the universal transmitter but does not open the garage door, the garage door opener may have a code protected or rolling code feature.
To operate, simply press the appropriate button on the universal transmitter. The red light is on while the signal is being transmitted.
IF THE GARAGE OPENER HAS ROLLING CODES---
program as above then------
Train the garage door opener receiver to recognize the universal transmitter.
Remove the cover panel from the garage door opener receiver.
Locate the training button on the garage door opener receiver. Location and color of the button may vary by garage door opener manufacturer. Refer to the garage door opener instruction manual or owner literature.
Press the training button on the garage door opener receiver for 1-2 seconds.
Press the programmed universal transmitter button for as long as the universal transmitter red light flashes (1-2 seconds). Release the button and re-press the button to confirm that the universal transmitter is trained to the receiver.
The garage door opener should recognize the universal transmitter.

Setting garage door opener

Most openers are programmed the same. You normally program the house garage opener to accept the new remote. Your garage opener will have a button to press to add in a new remote. Normally you press this and then press the remote in the car and hold until your lights on your opener flash or the garage door closes. (check your manual on your garage door opener)
