Yep thats what I thought. Worked for jiffy lube years ago. And I was pretty sure of that. Quick lube here argued with me about it.

Warm the engine to normal temperature. Remove the transmission dipstick and wipe clean. Re insert the dipstick and look at the end of it. You will see it has am are marked "Safe" and and area marked "Add". As long as your in the safe your ok. If fluid is low add 1/2 a quart at a time and repeat these steps. DO NOT OVERFILL.
Hope this helps.

What should the cost estimate be to replace the flexplate on a 2009 dodge ram 1500 4wd 5.7 hemi?

Not considering the costs of parts themselves, the labor to remove and replace the transmission, torque converter and flexplate runs estimates at approximately 4.5 hours. If you have a skid plate and dual exhaust, add another .5 hour. At rates of approximately $80-100 USD per hour of labor, you are looking at $360.00-$500.00 labor, plus the cost of parts and fluids.

My ram 1500 2w drive has trouble getting out of first gear. After i hit a certain rpm and let go of the gas pedal it will shift...But after get past that and doing 35 or higher and try to push quickly on...

Is there any check engine light on ? It sounds like your transmission is slipping ! Pre 2004 dodge trucks mainly had the the 46re trans wich requires service every 30k wich includes adjustimg the primary and secondary bands ! With my experience this never gets done and leads to transmission problems ! At this point the damage is done so you can try some things - first flush the transmission and drop the pan and have the bands adjusted and put in a new filter , refill with atf plus 4 fluid only and substitute 1 qaurt of fluid with lucas trans treatment and add greased lighting additive and drive for several days ! I did this on a dodge truck i bought that was having problems and it fixed the majority of the problems a computer update fixed the remainder of the problems and she has been running perfect since !

Where do i add trsnsmission fluid?

If it's an automatic transmission, pull out the dipstick from the transmission, insert a funnel into the dipstick hole and add the proper fluid. Make sure the trans is warm/hot when you check it. Don't overfill it.

Transmission fluid levels & shifting Dodge Ram 1500 4.7

The transmission is slipping.

Sounds like it needs more than just adding fluid. I'd take it in for service before the transmission is further damaged.

1999 Dodge Ram 1500 Manual transmission

check the fluid first and if ok could be a bad bearing in trans or if the noise changes when pressed in it could very well be throught bearing going bad if it is drive it until it starts squealing and then get it fixed might run for years like that
