Question about 1997 Volkswagen Eurovan
Most probably blown fuse but could also be relay. relay needs engine speed signal to activate. bridge terminal 30 [positive] and 87 [to fuel pump], pump should run. if not problem with wiring to pump or pump itself. check earth wire to pump [continuity between vehicle body and brown wire at pump connector.

Relays only allow power to the pump . If the fuel pump keeps failing I suggest you check some where else. It is vital that you do not run the fuel level too low as that destroys fuel pumps. You should keep at least 1/4 tank of fuel. when you get it going have a pressure test done on the fuel manifold. Run the fault codes
