It is what it is. If it was easy, you would do it yourself. That a avg price for that job. Be sure they use the correct NGK Platinum spark plug.

Your MPV has a 3.0L DOHC engine, labor to remove and replace spark plugs pre Mitchell labor guide, this is a labor guide us repair shop used to be fair to the customer and our self, hour flag labor rate for this job is 1.8 hrs X shop hourly labor rate = labor cost to you, find out what they charge per hour and times that by 1.8, at $240.00 labor that tells me there hourly rate is $133.33 per hour, I dont know what kind of spark plugs they used but plugs can run between $2.00 all the way up to $29.00, good luck, hope this was very helpful.

Hi,
Spark plugs should not have costed you anymore than 5-6 dollars each. But, as they are Iridium type plugs they may have cost a bit more than standard spark plugs, although $9 dollars seems a bit expensive.
30 dollars for each a spark plug for labor was an absolute rip off.
It should have not taken more than 1 hour to 1.5 hours to replace all 6 spark plugs.
I would complain to the repairer, then the local consumer group.
Take someone who knows cars with you. Make a big scene, especially when the shop is busy with customers.
If the shop was part of a larger chain eg Mazda, go the local Mazda head office.
Do not take this ripoff laying down..stand up for your rights!
Threaten to take your story to the local newspaper or tv network.
Cheers,
Steve

How much does it cost to have spark plugs and wires put in acura 2.3cl 2002

Well, now.
Spark plugs generally run from 3 - 10 dollars each, and spark plug wires run from 30 - 130 a set.
Now I'll do some estimating:
If you have a V-6 motor, that is 6 X 6 = $ 36 plugs and $100 wires = $136 + tax.
However, garages and shops get labor from $ 30-100 dollars to do this.
So, $ 136 parts plus $ 70 labor = $ 206 + tax.
Next thing to remember:
1) Spark Plugs today are good for 100,000 miles a set.
2) Spark plug wires can easily last 10 years.
3) and most important is - tune -up shops are in business to sell you plugs and wires whether you need them or not. They HAVE to sell them to stay in business.

How much are tune-ups for my trailblaizer

Spark plug run about $12.53 each X 6 Double Platinum
Labor to remove and replace only spark plug's
1.6 hour's X there labor rate = labor cost.

To also replace air filter and fuel filter
air filter about $20.69
fuel filter about $37.41
Labor to remove and replace .7thent of an hour
X there labor rate = labor cost.

Engine warning light on Mazda MPV 2002

There seem to be 4 sensors along the way in the air intake and emissions system.

My Check Engine light indicated a bad sensor 1, bank 2 code (I think).

I had my mechanic replace the sensor that was indicated as faulty... cost = $191.

Then the Check Engine light came on again (with a different code), and I had to leave the van with him all day.

Cost to replace and install that sensor = $115.

My advice: if the Check Engine light stays on *AND* your vehicle is riding rough, get it fixed.

Otherwise, put a piece of tape over that Check Engine light and save a couple hundred dollars!

Hope this helps, I do trust my mechanic fully.

They are about $30 a piece. Car may have two, I'm not really sure. Labor shouldn't be over $30 or $40, I wouldn't think.

Parts and labor cost

I had a local for dealer look at my 2005 Crown Vic due to sevice engine light coming on. Was told "coil asy" on two spark plugs was bad & need to be replaced. Being a loyal customer of this dealership I OK'd the repair. The cost were $171.00 for coil asy & $185.16 for two spark plugs. Was I ripped off or what?

Cat converters

yes sir they are about right. I have had both of my CAT CONV replaced. The 1st was under warranty. There is a 8yr/80000, mile warranty with the dealer. So I did not have to pay anything for that. The second one was replaced recently at Precision Tune. That was a bout a grand just for the CAT CONV and labor. I had called the mazda dealer and they confirmed as well. So yes we do have two and they do cost about a grand a piece.

goodl luck

Blue Smoke on starting, and also straining uphill Mazda Protege

The problems with the exhaust valve and the failed piston are probably due to that cylinder running lean. Check the fuel injector for that cylinder and also look for vacuum leaks that would affect that cylinder. We do not think the wrong heat range of spark plugs would cause the problem you describe.
