Replace the FUEL PUMP RELAY. Its located in the under hood relay center. This relay primes the pump with the key on, about 2 seconds, then the pump will not run until the engine has oil pressure, then the fuel pump is energized.

I bought a 97 safari 4.6 awd. It sat for a few years. They said they fixed the lifter. I had to put the intake manifold back on the engine. I went to start it, and it won't even crank. I can manually...

ENGINE COULD HAVE THROWED ROD BEARING.REMOVE SPARK PLUGS TO KILL COMPRESSION WHILE YOU TURN ENGINE OVER.IF ENGINE STILL WONT TURN EASILY VALVES LASH ADJUSTMENT COULD BE TIGHT MAKING HARD FOR ENGINE TO CRANK.

Does reverse and 4th work? Do you have to back off for it to shift into 4th? 2nd and 4th use the same band to apply.

Check spark to #4 cyl if it is almost constant bad cap and button by gm parts clean ground to chassis connection . The #2,3,5 arc to # 4 due to cap design check with timing light 1 and 6 are direct feed in cap . Hope this helps .

97 GMC Safari heater takes forever to get warm.

It sounds like your thermostat is bad - it has become worn to the point that it will not close anymore, making the coolant circulate all the time- this is why it takes a long time to heat up, because it never builds heat before the thermostat opens.
