SOURCE: 2004 ford escape has no power when give it gas and

most likely your transmittion happened to me but in reverse my mechanic told me it was due to a transmittion flud hose that was too small which if you had your escape dealer serviced they replaced however it was not a recall the smaller hose in cold weather doesnt allow enough trans fluid to circulate which heats up the trans causing the clutch in trans to warp and disentegrate. when mine went it startd slowly engine would rev but car hardly moved then it would no longer move at all had t rebuild trans cost me 3200.00 im taking action against ford as to why a recall was not put into placed a few people i know who have escapes have had to rebuild trans for same issues hope it helps!

Sounds like you need a transmission rebuild :(
Typical symptom of transmission failure, especially in a vehicle as old as yours. Have you ever replaced the transmission fluid or filter? No? Hmmmm... ;)

My 2004 ford escape has no drive but all other gears work great. Do i need a new transmission?

i have a 2004 ford escape and it wont drive. every other gear works perfectly fine except the drive gear, it goes into drive but it doesn't move and the mechanice is saying I need a whole new transmission which he said cost $3000 parts and labor. I need a cheaper way and it sounds fishy to me

Where is the shift solenoid on a 2008 escape

Well, the actual solenoids are inside of the transmission, you can see them by removing the trans pan. If it wont go into any gear however, this is not your problem. Normally even if you unplug an electric trans it will default to second gear, and still move normally in reverse. Can you feel 'detents' when you move the shifter from park, or is it really easy to move? If you feel the detents, then it sounds like an internal transmission problem to me. The pump would be my first guess.

2001 ford escape v6 wont go into any gear

These are very weak transmissions with way under-sized coolers, I would bet you need a rebuild and a larger cooler for it.

GEAR SHIFT WONT MOVE OUT OF PARK (2004 FORD ESCAPE)

Do the brake lights work. If not, it sounds like you have a problem with the brake light switch.
