Question about 2006 Mazda 3

1 Answer

The display went out on the radio/cd player of our 2005 Mazda 3. The decorative light works by the volume knob but we cannot tell what station the radio is on or any of the functions because of the lack of illumination. We know the radio and cd player works. I have looked at all of the fuzes under the glove compartment dealing with illumination or radio and they are fine. What is my next step?

How do I fix error message on radio (cd player) on a 2005 Dodge Dakota

Dead laser is not emitting light.
Thus, no light reflects from the CD back to the unit.
So, it reports "error".
Replace the CD-player.

Possibly, the bundle that goes through the door also have speaker wires in them. Check there.

Equinox cd player

Should be no connection between the two. Those vehicles are always having problems with the radio units in them. You will either have toi get the radio fixed or find a used one at the wrecking yard but then will have to go to the dealer to get the security code done to make it work or get a after market unit. I would say go to a after market unit.

Refer to the Diagnostic Starting Point - Entertainment procedure in SI to begin your diagnosis of this failure to eject CDs concern before reprogramming the radio.
2. Reprogram the radio using the Service Programming System (SPS) with the latest software available on TIS2WEB. Refer to the SPS procedures and the Radio Programming and Set procedure in SI for more information. As always make sure your Tech 2® is updated with the latest software version.

Display on auto radio is not working

unfortunately they are right,i worked at a mazda dealer-my advice would be to get an aftermarket cd player-save in cost
if you are worried about it voiding your warranty it wont-they only time an aftermarket part would void a warranty is if a problem came about that was caused by the aftermarket part(ex-cd player)then that repair would not be covered under warranty but your warranty would still be valid

i own a 2005 mazda 3 with 6 CD and you should be able to push the load button the player will scroll through what is in the player and then start flashing a # where it is going to put the new CD, this is when you can load,But if your player is already full it will not allow you to add anymore without ejecting one
