Question about 2000 Chevrolet Venture

First up to gain access to the rear plugs, you need to rotate the engine forward. Sounds crazy, I agree. When I first heard it I was thinking they are nuts, but, it rotates:
1) Block rear wheels
2) Put transmission in neutral
3) Remove the air cleaner duct and air cleaner
4) Remove the bolts (1 each) from both forward engine torque struts (they are the two things bolted down on each side of the hood latch on top of the radiator. remove the bolt from each of these that keeps the engine in place)
5) Use a ratchet strap to rotate the engine forward to gain access to the rear plugs
Tips: If the engine does not want to rotate enough, you may need to go under the van and disconnect the exhaust manifold from the rest of the exhaust system. It is not hard to find. Follow the pipe towards the engine, just to the rear of the engine there will be an exhaust flange with 2 bolts, remove those disconnecting the engine from the rest of the exhaust. Now the engine should rotate even farther forward. Some manuals claim that there is a flex pipe on the exhaust already, however, I know personally that my van does not. You may also have a similar situation. This may sound like a lot, but it can be done in a few hours.
The first time I tried, I did not know about the exhaust thing and could not reach the rear plugs. I took it in to a shop and it cost me over 160 bucks for them to do it. Mostly labor. For the first time going through, I would allow yourself about 4 hours to make it happen. Only because you are going to have to use a systematic approach step by step and figure out the van as you go. The shop took 2 hours to get it done.
