Question about Mercedes-Benz CLK

2000 mercedes CLK 320 (w 208) driver side floor mat is soaked, most likely from clogged drain of driver side water collector. This happened after the vehicle sat for a week under a tree that shedding little flower petles all over the car. How can I get to or snake the drain on that side - preferably from the bottom of the drain end rather than top of collector (which I've tried, but can't see what I'm doing). There is no problem with the drain of the collector on the passenger side.

I have had the exact problem twice..remove the grills right below the front windshield..(out side of course) you will see a black resivor for catching water..but you must first un-clip all the clips that secure it..on the passenger side is a wep hole with a flapper..it happened twice to me..so i just removed the flapper..from restricting water flow..then the water drips down to the frame..i had inches of water..wet vac to remove it..remove rug and carpet below rug mat ...cause of mold..the water came down through the blower motor found behind the glove box..it's not to hard..common logic..i had pine needles clogging the resivor..or water trough..

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. To extricate the water out please cut a 2mm gap in the centre of the bottom door seal. Also please check that there is no condensation in the computer box under the bonnet. Use the heater to remove the damp in the carpet under the dash which might be condensed on the inside of the lid of the ECU box and dripping down on the connector plugs causing the instrument panel to light up. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

I've already done that and there is no drain there. It sounds like you're just guessing and don't really know this vehicle that much. Am I correct?

Sounds like your drains are clogged with debris , you have to open your hood and find where your A-Pillar ends you might find debris piled up clean that out and take metal coat hanger and gently clean out the drain tube , hope this helps you good luck.

My 99 chrysler town and country is leaking water from the drivers side under carriage seams. I cannot find where it is coming from. Any help would be great. Thanks.

There is a tube on either side, and they have a tendancy to get clogged with debris. I would attempt to clean them out. You may also want to remove the wipers, and tale off the top of the wiper module. Leaves, and other debris tends to collect under there, and that's what clogs the drain tubes. Good luck, and let me know how it works out. Thanks.

I have a 2002 BMW 530i. The floor mat on the driver's side gets soaked with water after heavy rain storms. What can cause this problem?

Hi odure,

I would suspect one of 2 problems. Either the vapor barrier behind the driver's door panel is not sealing well, or possibly a sunroof drain is clogged. Usually the vapor barrier is the most common cause. I would recommend removing the door panel and check to see if the barrier is fully sealed. Also when removing the panel, replace any clips that may break, or that may be missing the rubber grommet on them.

I have a Mazda B2500 (2000). Everytime it rains the drivers side floorboard gets soaked. There is no dripping or water running down the door. What could this be?

You could have a windshield that is leaking water. Often this water will trickle down from the bottom/inside of the glass and then down the firewall, under the carpet or floor mat, and to the floor. The way I usually hunt for these is to remove the floor mat or carpet then get a flashlight and lay down in the cab so you can see under the dash area while someone sprays water on the vehicle with a garden hose. Often the leak will show up as a trickle that you can then backtrack to it's source. Another spot to look for is at the cowl in front of the windshield where air for the heater and a/c is pulled into the passenger compartment. The water drain holes in this area can plug up and allow water to overflow into the passenger compartment. Good luck, hope this helps!

Car mat on pasengers side is soaking wet is the drain off pipe blocked which is making the floor wet.

your drain plug under the floor is a rubber plug and it could have came out, to look for it look under your car on pass. side floor board and check to see if the plug fell out. Also this happens when the seel on the lower corner of the winsheild is not seeled or is missing some of the windsheild caulk in that corner. This happened to my car and it was the corner of the windsheild causing the problem. Hope this helps you and good luck.

Wet floor mats and stinky ac/heat unit...

Your drain lines are clogged, and need to be blown out with compressed air. What you are smelling is mold.

Extreme rain for several days, has caused Water soaked floor board on Drivers side.

There are two things that may have caused your problem.

1) bad seall at windshield or door.
2) plugged A/c heater box drain..it may be plugged and could not drain fast enough, so the water overflowed into the interior.

Where is the heater core located on the 2002 Volvo S60?

There may be a clogg in the drain for your air condition. Or the drain for the water coming off of the windshield (on the bottom where the wiper blades are, may be clogged with leaves or debris. To check take a hose or alot of water and pour on windshield then look to see if it drips inside on the driver floor. To check if its an Ac drain leak turn AC on and run for a while and check to see if the mat is wet or water is dripping on floor mat. Good Luck
