Have you checked the pressure with a gauge. It has to be 60 or it won't start.

Chevy tahoe 1999 now it starts but runs for a few seconds then i wait it starts and run for a few seconds again

Seem's like your fuel pump isn't able to keep the good fuel pressure.

Might be a good idea to check your fuel rail pressure. I assume that it drops before your engine dies!!!

If fuel pressure is ok in your rail, try cleaning the fuel rail and injectors. Sometimes dirt can go from a trashed fuel filter an clog yor rail or the injectors.

1999 Olds Alero will not start until press is released in fuel injector rail

It could be that the fuel pressure is too high. This COULD cause the injectors to not fire when they are triggered. Once you bleed the pressure and the car is running, there is enough flow to keep the pressure at a manageable level. I would get a fuel pressure gauge and check the pressure at the rail. You may find a new fuel pressure regulator will fix your issue.

My 2000 cavalier won't start. It's the 2.2. Spark

Have you checked fuel pressure at the rail with a gauge ? It may be too low to let the engine start. Or the injectors may not be opening.

Dodge durango takes 2-3 tries before starting what causes that? i had a computer put on it but the only code i get is 0601 any suggestions?

Sounds like fuel pressure is bleeding off. It is not uncommon for this to happen on chrysler vehicles with your style fuel pump module.

The first thing i would do is check fuel pressure with a fuel pressure gauge. The will be a test port on the fuel rail. You should see roughly 50 psi of pressure and it should hold pressure with the key off. If fuel pressure drops the regulator is bad and the fuel pump assembly in the fuel tank will need to be replaced. this will require dropping the fuel tank from the vehicle.

Van die on road ,its able to start with a shot of hot shot but dies ,fuel leaks out rack bleeder valve when pushed .fuel pump is 175 dollars and cant be returned .plz do you have any ideas

Get yourself a fuel pressure gauge and don't guess and start thrrowing parts at the think only to cost you more money,

Get a fuel pressure gauge, 2.4 L, 3.0 L and 3.8 L engine = 49 PSI (Pounds per Square Inch)Remove the ground cable from the negative battery postand also remove the fuel tank filler cap. Attach fuelrelease tool onto the fuel rail test port, then placethe open end into a suitable gasoline container andproceed to bleed down the pressurized fuel system.

3.3 L engine = 55 PSI (Pounds per Square Inch)Remove the ground cable from the negative battery postand also remove the fuel tank filler cap. Attach fuelrelease tool onto the fuel rail test port, then placethe open end into a suitable gasoline container andproceed to bleed down the pressurized fuel system

Where is the fuel filter on a 2004 Ford F250 superduty v10 4x4 I need to change it please

Hello, You should find it under the frame rail by the drivers seat. If not, then look at your fuel rails for the injectors and follow the lines back towards the bottom of the frame.

You need to have a decoupler tool to release the clips for the fuel filter. You also need to bleed off the gasoline pressure before separating the filter clips. There are 2 ways to do this. There is a pressure access valve on the fuel rail under the hood. On a cold engine, take a rag and a pencil or pen and press on the valve stem to bleed off the pressure. Or you can bump the Inertia switch to kill the fuel pump and then run the engine until it dies; but then you need to reset the Inertia switch under the dash (behind the kickpanels there is an access hole) when you want the fuel pump to work again.

You slide the decoupler tool over the fuel line and work it against the internal springs to release the filter. If you do not release the pressure in the line you will have a hard time uncoupling the filter.

I have an 1986 ford ranger, fuel injection, automatic. I can start the truck, but then it tries to die when I shift to reverse, or when i switch to drive and try to give it the gas. Then, the other day...

U need to verify the fuel pressure during this time that is acts up.if the fuel pressure drops below 30 psi then u may have a faulty fuel pump.you can get a fuel pressure tester from advance auto,Install the tester on the test valve on the fuel rail.Your truck has two fuel pumps but the main supply pump is mounted on the frame rail underneath the drivers side floor pan.

1995 monte carlo starting and run problems

Sounds like the fuel is draining back towards the fuel tank, which is the reason for extended cranking till fuel reaches injectors. My guess would be the fuel pump in the fuel tank. It contains a REVERSE FLOW VALVE, which SHOULD prevent this. A visible way to check would to place a manual fuel pressure gauge on the fuel rail valve. After shutting the engine off note the degree of pressure drop, if any. Hope this helps

Starts and dies, starts and dies

Possible fuel pressure regulator. Altho are u sure you're getting good spark? More testing is needed here. Need to know what your fuel pressure is with "key on engine off" and then "key on, engine ON"...then turn key off and watch pressure bleed down. Bleed down should not fall below 30 psi.
