The power steering reservoir is in the front of the motor right up against the firewall about half way down. It could be a bit difficult to reach. It's easier, and less painful, if you wait for the motor to cool off before you check it.

2000 Buick LeSabre power steering dip stick. Where is it?

The power steering fluid level is indicated by marks on a fluid level indicator. The fluid level indicator is located on the fluid reservoir cap. Inspect the fluid level when the engine compartment is cool. Ensure that the fluid level is at the FULL COLD mark. When the engine compartment is hot, ensure that the fluid level is at the HOT mark.

more than likely it is just low on power steering fluid. system might have air in it now. so after fill power steering unit to proper level driver the car and check fluid level again. and add more if needed . I believe car should have motor running for when checking fluid, same as transmission.

2002 Buick LeSabre steering noise when turning left-what could it be?

The whine is an indicator the power steering unit is low in most cases. If the fluid is at the proper level then the power steering pump is most likely going out.

The steering is hard to move and the steering warning light is on. Please let me know what to do I need to urgently resolve it.

The servo unit on the steering has failed . Look inside the engine bay for oil leaks - if none are present then the entire steering rack will have to be replaced - the internal seals have failed.

Freelander makes whining noise when turning steering wheel

This is either your power steering fluid level being too low, or your power steering pump is in need of replacement.

Need to find out where the power steering fluid is we think it needs someadded but it is not where the book shows and we can't find it??????

The Power Steering Fluid has a reservoir with a cap on it and has a belt and pulley connected to the device. Hoses will lead to the rack and pinion system on the firewall. Underhood Check
  • Engine oil--Check the engine oil level.
  • Coolant--Check the radiator coolant level in the reservoir.
  • Battery-- Visually check battery cables and connections.
  • Automatic transmission--Check the fluid level.
  • Master cylinder--Check the fluid level.
  • Power Steering--Check the fluid level.
  • Windshield washer--Check the fluid level.
  • Belts & hoses--Visually check all belts and hoses for wear. NOTE: In addition to the items listed above there are cases with some manufacturer's where odd components such as manual transmission/transaxles and front differentials many be equipped with a dipstick found underhood for fluid level check. If you are unsure of a dipstick on your vehicle, check with the owners manual. 89531p07.jpg

    Fluid check

The 2002 thru 2007 do not have the traditional hydraulic power stering unit that requires fluid. In these models, power assist is provided by an electrical power steering unit. Nothing to check there but the battery.
