Fuel Gauge 1999-2003 GM Vehicles

If your fuel gauge in your 1999-2002 GM vehicle is not working properly, the fault is most likely the fuel gauge sending unit in the tank. The fuel pump and sending unit are one unit so the entire assembly needs to be changed. The problem is almost never the actual gauge in the instrument cluster.

Goin to be gettin a 2001 buick lesabre the speedometer tack gas gauge and mostly everything in that are like gear select and odometer what can it be a fuse?

GM vehicles from 1999-2006 had many of these gauge clusters go out. It is very unlike that it is a fuse as most of that stuff (speedometer, etc) is gear driven. You can buy a re-build cluster at most parts stores or through a GM dealership fairly cheaply, and that's probably your best option.

I have 2005 2500 hd that the fuel gauge is acting erratic. The needle now is pointing straight down. What would ne causing this?

the Instrument panel cluster on the silverados and sierra and tahoes all have this problem the cluster assemblys go bad for no apparant reason and you will need a new cluster they are 260 and they are non reparable , and a gm dealer will need to program your mileage and engine hours into the new controler (cluster)

All gauges stopped working on Friday but came back on after going through checking all lights etc. After turning right signal light on ( while driving) the gauges came on. All gauges went again today and...

this is a common issue. the internals of the instrument panel clusters become defective, and is a sealed unit - the entire cluster must be replaced. this must be performed at the dealer because they need to reprogram the mileage into the new cluster with the GM scantool. you should call your local dealer with your VIN#, some models are covered by a secret / extended / goodwill warranty. if the dealer says no, request the 1800 number to contact gm. good luck!
