I have a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee (4.0L) engine. It has power but will not crank. The battery is reading enough voltage.

You can put in your gasoline tank injector cleaner which cleans and unclogs the injectors first. If this does not help you then check one of the spark plugs to see if it is getting any spark to the tip of plug but have someone to check one of the plugs for you safely. Then you can also check inside the distributor cap and rotor to see the connections have not turned black which means no connections to each spark plug when the rotor goes around inside the distributor cap and if you see the connections inside the dist. cap that you need to replace them both. If you take the old distributor cap and rotor to make sure you put the new one the same way you took off the old one by using a permanent black or white marker and make a straight line from one of the outlets where one of the spark plug wire comes from to where the alignment will help you put the newer distributor cap. You can also take a photo of the distributor cap but on top view and then when you take if off to also take a photo view of the rotor as well.

301 & 306 are cylinder #1 and #6 misfire. Your spark plug wires are not in the proper firing order in relation to the correct cylinder and distributor locations.

96 laredo, bogs down only when first taking off. Hot or cold. The rest of the time it runs okay.

It sounds like you are getting a weak spark to one or more cylinders. I would start by checking that all of your spark plugs are connected. Make sure the plug wires are in good condition and connected in the proper firing order. If applicable, check your distributor cap and rotor for damage or wear.

95 jeep grand charokee laredo hard to start,

Check your spark plug, wires, distributor cap and finger. If you spark plugs older than 15000ml, replace them. To check your spark plug wires, use a tester (U can buy at any auto store) you hold direct on the wire and a small sparkling will show you if the wire works or not. You can check the wires also with this: use a single spark plug (don't remove one out your engine!), remove the wire from first SP, connect it with the single SP, hold it to ground, let someone start your engine...you need to see regular sparks.. do this step by step with all 6 wires. If all wires are fine, check the SP's, If you miss on one wire, replace the wire, if you miss on more than one, chekc the distributor cap and finger. If this items are older than 20000ml or 5 years, replace them.

Spark plug wire position on distributor cap

1-5-3-6-2-4
ALL Jeep 4.0 motors use this firing order. Any year, any model, high output or not.

Also, the spark plug wire placement on the cap, in a clockwise direction from the post nearest the engine block is: 6-2-4-1-5-3.(to the left side of the number 6 post, there should be a hold downscrew or strap for fastening the distributor cap to the distributor.
