Broken or missing wiper linkage bushings. basically it sounds like your linkage has come off the wiper transmission.

It Sounds Like, Either The Arms Are Loose ,If You Can Hear Something Moving Behind The Dash,
Or The Linkages Are Seized ,If The Motor Just Hums No Movement Heard,In Which Case Try Spraying Q 20 On The Linkage And Try Moving The Wiper Arms By Hand To Get It Going Again,
If Not The Motor May Just Be Burn;t Out.

Check the wiper arms are properly connected to the mechanism, that protrudes from the actual motor...these normaly have a tooth like system and therefor if the wiper arms are not connected properly then the wiper motor will run but the wipers wont move.....also check the wiper cross arm mechanism(located under the bonnet)as these are normaly on a push fit ball and could be worn and disengaged.

2004 tundra windshield wipers don't move but motor runs

If both wiper arms move, the linkage between them probably is OK. What isn't OK is the connection between the arms and the motor. You will have to get access to the motor area to find out what needs repair

Windshield wipers don't move, but hear motor running

check the nuts on the wiper arms and make sure they are tight. If the nuts are tight then a linkage on the wiper transmission probably came loose or broke. You'll have to pull some cowling off to access it.

97 jimmy wiper motor relay fuse problem hear motor running and wipers don't go. fuse or motor?

if u hear motor not elect problem -most likely linkage unbolted from motor with motor running try to move the wiper arms if move freely than need to remove cowl and check the linkage hook up to motor -if wipers dont move freely than possible motor damage/seized linkage damaged but still would have to look under cowl at connection at linkage

Pontiac g6 2006 wipers stopped movement while driving. what could this be from? I already checked fuses. i hear the motor running making noise.

either linkage broke/ jammed or motor is stuck -makin noise but not movin open hood and with wiper on feel motor- its on firewall-for movement if moving turn off motor now try to move wipers if move freely than they are broken off or have disconnected from the motor need to remove the cowl to access the wipers linkages

When i turn on the windshield wipers, they don;t move. All I hear is a clicking sound

Under the wiper arms you will find a wiper transmission that consists of a series of linkages that attach the wiper arms to the motor. This is where you will find your problem. Remove the wiper arms and the panel under them for inspection.

I have a 1990 Dodge Caravan, and I replaced the windsheild wiper motor and can hear it running, but the wiper blades are still not working; is there anything else that I'm not checking?.....

hi if your can hear it running and all the arms are attatched from the motor to the wiper arm assembley then look at the main arm that comes from the motor where it is bolted on see if its tighted up if so turn your wipers on and watch the main arm nut which is fastened to the motor see if the nut if moving but not the arm as it will be held by splines and these wear off if the nut is not moving and you are sure the motors running then you need to get a new motor
