Most likely cause is the door switch. A faulty switch (in this case the driver's door) will give a false indication that the door is constantly open, thereby tripping the alarm. It could also prevent you from locking the doors since the switch is indicating the door is open. There are really only 2 ways to correct this.
1) Spray the driver's door switch with a lubricant and manually press the switch several times to work the lubricant in. A stuck switch will often start working again.
2) Replace the driver's door switch.
Best of luck and hope you found this answers your problem.
Regards, Greg

Yes, if after spraying worked temporarily the switch started acting up again, it may very well need replacement. Thank you for your rating of my solution.

Anti theft alarm going off every time we open door! car starts just fine, but alarm keeps going off for about 3 min, then stops until we open the door again.

Hi Yolanda, my name is Al I'm the owner of Big As Auto Repair, check us out at bigasautorepair.com Here is what most likely happened. When the tow truck driver opened the pass door with his tools, he most likely unhooked the alarm switch that hooks to the back of the door switch. If you know someone who can take off the pass door panel they can push the switch back onto the back of the door switch, provided he did not break the switch itself. In that case you'll need a new switch if it is broken, if it is not broken simply plug it back in and you should be fine. If you don't know anyone to remove the panel then go to my website and call me from the number on the website and I can guide you through the process. Hope this helps and have an awesome day Yolanda. My 98 kia sportage wont start

It sounds like the key sensor in the drivers door is malfunctioning, the drivers door is the only door that can enable/disable the alarm, if you try to unlock any of the others it will trigger the alarm.

Sometimes with my Kia I have to (without opening the door), cycle lock and unlock several times before the alarm is disarmed.

Have you tried this is succession, with all the doors locked:-

put the key in the drivers door, turn to lock and then to unlock, the alarm should disarm.

Also, if any of the door locks are jammed, the alarm will still activate when you try to unlock the drivers door.

If that fails and the alarm still activates, then it's a problem with the key sensor in the door.

CAR ALARM ISSUES

It can be any of the car doors not got properly locked or the door is locked but the switch is not sensing the door locked. Open and close each door again properly.

Or else its problem with any of switch wiring getting in contact with alarm wiring causing it to happen.

And last thing alarm connections need to be inspected. It's getting short somewhere in between.

There are few help links with solutions, to troubleshoot these types of problems. I suggest going through these links.

Whenever i unlock my camry manualy ( key in the door ) the alarm goes off. Also if i open the back door before the front door the alarm goes off. I have to use the remote key or i cant get into my car and...

this is due to a bad switch in the drivers door, when you use the key to unlock the door it should shut down alarm, also the alarm module may be going bad, the alarm is setting itself on, when ever you lock the door the alarm turns on, you will need to replace the switch on the drivers door or unlock the passenger side door that also has a switch that disarms it, the switch is on the lock itself, thats the problem you are having , good day,

Alarm won't go off

One of your door latches may be bad. Open the drivers door and arm the alarm with remote, Does your alarm honk once? If it does that door latch is faulty and needs to be replaced.

Car Alarm/Door lock

This happened to me too...It turned out to be that my door was out of adjustment, which caused the door position sensor to not know whether the door is closed or open. Sometimes my light on the inside of the door would flash (because the car thought that the door was open). Once the alarm did activate, the car would sometimes think that the door had opened, thus causing the alarm to activate. It was cheap to have fixed...I think it was less than $100 at the dealership.

Jeep alarm will not turn off

The ignition security on/off is located at the trunk lock. unlock and lock rear gate and the alarm will turn off. My jeep sat in my drive for a month before a jeep tech told me this. It still triggers the security sometimes when I unlock the passenger door with the key and I go straight to the rear gate lock and it shuts off instantly.
