Question about 2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser

1 Answer

The clutch pedal squeaks when depressed. It only begins to happen after the car has been driving for 10-15 mins. Have taken it back tothe garage. They have lubricated all parts but the sqeak is still there. What is causing the problem and what can I do to correct it?

Bled the clutch, happens lots of city driving, squeaks, then clutch pedal loses pressure, then comes back, fluid stays at same level.

If fluid level is full and there are no leaks, the most likely problem would be an internal clutch master cylinder issue. The internal seals of this cylinder may be causing a by-pass of the fluid causing a pedal/no pedal operation

When i depress the clutch there is a little squeaking noise

thrust bearing ,whilst its working ok leave well alone as it will involve removinig the gearbox ,it could run with this noise for years so dont loose sleep over it ,and even if it does break you can still drive the car home with no clutch ,just start it in 1 gear then when speed right it will just slide back into next gear ,trust me here as do you think old ford thames trader trucks had syncros or a two stroke diesel commer ,OOPS showing my age here

The clutch pedal on my passat stayed close to floor

sounds like a problem with the hydraulic clutch, either the master or slave cylinder was bypassing fluid and causing the low pedal.
