Either the linkage isn't adjusted properly and it's not engaging all the way or the transfer case fork (internal) and attending parts are worn.

2005 trailblazer, 4 wheel drive trys to engage while driving in 2 wheel drive, making poping noise intermitant

May be the computer model itself. Don't spend big bucks on new one to find out I'm wrong. Go to local junk yard & get one for $30-40 ( if you pull yourself). Pretty easy, just a bolt or two holding in place & a plug or two.
4 Wheel drive model (computer) is different then main computer

I shifted into 4 wheel drive then the lever popped out of the fixture & doesn't work the jeep is now stuck in 4 wheel drive

crawl under the vehicle and look on the drivers side of the transfer case. You will see the shift lever. With the e-brake set, or the wheels chalked, pop the lever back to the 2wd position. This will at least save the drive train until you can get the in car lever repaired.

Some vehicle have a spacefic routine you have to go threw to go from 4 to 2. Try it in neutral. or after you shift back into 2 drive in reverse for a bit till it pops back into 2.

Push button 4 wheel drive stuck in 4 wheel hi

My GMC Jimmy '01 would slip from 2-wheel to 4-wheel drive while I was driving. First time it happened my mechanic replaced a small part. This last time, he couldn't find anything wrong so he popped the 2-4 out and disconnected the 4-wheel drive. Now I don't have the problem.
