Wire crosed in the steering collum the brake light wire is crossed to the horn wire in the collum at the point that it tilts. If you don't work on collums regularlly then this isn't a good car to learn on.

On 2002 olds Intrigue, installing new horns but as soon as wires are plugged in horn honks . Removed horn fuse and relay but horn still honks .when pushing horn button ,with no horns, the relay clicks

You may have wires that have become crossed. The wire to the horn and a hot wire have probably lost the outer insulation and crossed each other causing the horn to start honking when it is connected. Check the wires with an electrical tester.

Horn randomly honks(very annoying while your trying to sleep) HELP!

its possible that the relay is the problem as most relays have a second power feed wire,if it shorts to the horn side of the relay it can blow the horn.doesn`t happen very often but it does happen.this could explain the horn blowing without the fuse in.you can get a door key made at a lock smith to solve that problem.

you have either a blown fuse or the factory wire harness isnt connected to horn first check fuse owners manual will have location and description of fuses if ok retrace your steps when you hooked horn to new alarm you disconnected wire at horn or you cut the wire to access horn wiring

Car stuck in park after pulling "stop horn" fuse on 07 Honda Civic. Horn was honking after jump starting it.

You will need to replace that "stop horn" fuse since it also feeds power to the stop lamps and the gear shifter solenoid, when you step on the brake pedal. Your best bet is to unplug the horn on the vehicle(to stop it from honking) until you can get it fixed. That way, you will be able to shift out of park to get it to a shop for repairs.

'97 Honda Accord- Horn honks spontaneously; honks several times in a random pattern every few minutes. Turning car off and restarting it seems to temporarily solve problem, but random honking will then...

THE SWITCH IN THE STEERING WHEEL IS PROBABLY GOING BAD OR HAS A LOOSE CONNECTION THAT IS GROUNDING OUT AND COMPLETETING THE CIRCUIT AT RANDOM. I REALLY DONT KNOW HOW OR WHY SHUTTING IT OFF WOULD TEPORARILY FIX THE PROBLEM BUT WITH ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE BELIEVE ME. ALSO TAKE A LOOK AT THE WIRING AND THE HORN ITSELF TO SEE IF EVERYTHING LOOKS OK THERE.

My horn used to honk when I locked my 1999 Jeep with the remote

If you have your owner's manual, there is a section that will tell you the exact sequence to press to enable/disable the horn bonk. It has three settings, chirp, honk, and off. The chirp is a really quick chirp of the horn. Honk is a longer honk. Off seems to be what you've set.

I hope this helps.

When I lock the door on my 99 dodge durango with the keyless remote the horn won't honk. But if I push the panic button the horn does honk. How can I get the horn to honk when I lock the doors?

Look in your manuel, there are steps to change the Key less remote setting to customize it the way you'ld like the car Key less system to work.
Good luck and hope this helps, if your still having problem. Just drive the Dodge dealer and ask the Service adviser to help you out, he or she would be more then happy to reprogram the key less system for you.

Horn wont honk

It could very possibly be that your horn relay has gone bad. I believe you might find it on the inside of the front fenders or the inside of the radiator support. I'm an ol' Chevy guy so don't quote me!

Low beam lights will not come on, honk horn lights come on, right light is out one day, left light is out the next.... Mazda Protege 5 2002.

Hi,

It would seem that you have a loose connection that is aggrevated by jarring as when the horn sounds off. You could try simulating by opening your hood, turn on your low bean and tapping on the grills or radiator. If yes, you have confirmed the loose connection, it is now a matter of determining where, cleaning the terminals (probably needs scrapping, might be burned or corroded).

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Got honk

The alarm horn and the normal horn are not the same unit. Seems like your normal horn is bad.
