Question about 1994 Lincoln Town Car
I have a '97 Chevy 1/2 ton 4x4 PU. Very good condition. Windsheild wipers will not always work in any speed. Hear a whinning sound when turned on. After driving for a period of time (varies from 20 min to 2 hours) they may start after repeated attempts of turning the wiper switch on and off then work OK. Is it the switch or the wiper motor that needs to be replaced?
Sounds like a loose connection, Clean the fuse contacts. Sometimes lubricant and dirt gets on the contacts within the switch itself and this will interfere with power supply. Have you checked the wiper relay corrosion and wear on the relay contacts impair electrical connection. Brighten up contacts with fine sand paper and if the relay contacts are suspect, remove the cover and draw folded sand paper between the contacts until clean.

Testimonial: "Thanks for the advice. The contacts from the relay to the wiper motor were covered with grease. "
