Trying to change timing belt but cannot find any marks to line up the duel cams. Do you have any idea where the marks are. The crank has a mark but not the cams?

I have a 1994 Toyota corolla changed the timing belt tensioner. trying to set timing, all marks line up except camshaft dots, can't get them to face each other without throwing off all the other marks

If you removed the tensioner and didn't lock the cams and crank down then you have to re-time the engine. It sounds like you let the exhaust and intake cams move.

Remove the spark plugs, put a ratchet on the crank pulley, slowly rotate engine until the cams line up. Once the cams are lined up remove, the timing belt and bring the crank around to the timing mark. put belt back on and let the tensioner go. put plugs back in...see if it'll start.

I am changing the oil pump on a ford fiesta TdCI and I need to know the cam belt timing marks or a diagram on the cam belt

Set the crank to 0 degrees according to the timing marks on the damper, look on the cam pulley for a mark and line it up with the mark on the head. Put the belt on WITHOUT moving the cam or the crank.

2001 toyota camry valve timing instruction

With a loose tensioner...There are timing marks on the crank. Line it up, run your belt up and around cam pulley which will also have timing marks. If it is duel cam marks will line up with each other. Keep all the slack of the belt pulled to the side of the tensioner. Release the tensioner and confirm marks. Turn motor through a revolution by hand and reconfirm marks are lined back up. Put it all back together.

How do i fix the timing of my conquest?

If you changed the belt and it has a problem, Timing might be off. Check the pulley on the cam and look for a mark. That mark lines up with a mark on the head. When those line up, the crank shaft timing mark should be at 0. If not loosen the belt tensioner and adjust the cam or the crank.

How to set timing when you relesh tensioner and it changes the alignment postion of pullies 2000 ford ranger 2.5 l

Here is the trick. Align marks. Put the timing belt on the crank shaft pulley first, and after on the overhead cam pulley. Release tensioner and rotate the crank shaft till the timing belt makes two full circles. Try to align marks, you will be at least one tooth off. Align the crank shaft on the mark, and find out how many teeth you are off at the cam shaft pulley. Count the teeth. Remove the timing belt from cam shaft pulley only. Move cam shaft pulley in reverse according to the number of teeth you counted. Make sure the crank shaft pulley is on the mark. Mount the belt at cam shaft pulley.Rotate the belt two circles and check the marks. Repeate this procedure til after releasing the tensioner, and rotating the timing belt two full circles, the mars will be align.

What is the timing marks for a 2000 kia sportage?

the timing marks are as follows... if you are not able to see the picture the intake cam gear will line up with the mating mark on the rear cover .... the "I" needs to be straight up... the exhaust cam the E needs to be straight up. the crankshaft mark is a nothch in the rear of the crank gear which needs to line up with a pointer on the front of the aluminum oil pump housing. the keyway on the crank needs to be vertical. the marks on the rear cover are dimples in the cover. this is an interferance engine DO NOT ROTATE CRANK OR CAMS WITH BELT OFF. IF YOU HAVE BROKEN THE TIMING BELT DAMAGE TO ENGINE HAS ALREADY OCCURED AND YOU WILL NEED A VALVE JOB!!!! there is no exception on this engine. if you have tried to crank it over and the belt is broken the head is no good!
