wat could not be grounded right? i accidentaly put the groung wire on the starter, where most fords hook up 2, but came to realize that this was not proper and grounded it to the bellhousing, and now it cranks just fine, just wont start, do you think this may have fried the ECM? cuz wen that ground was on the starter, the starter would not engage and the wire got real hot

Not firing on 3 cylinders. changed plugs and coil packs, didn't help

Hello there:
Just out of curiosity did you change the ignition controle module this sits under the coil packs that is bolted to the engine This tells the plugs when to fire and it can fire on half of it and have the other half not work this is one of the first things that will fail and give this type of a problem also you may want to check the crankshaft sensoer and the camshaft sensor too.
Ok hope this helps alot
Best regards Mike

Misfire in two cylinders

Check to see if the two cylinders misfiring are on the same coil pack. If so, change the coil pack in question.

This happened to me on 1997 Cadillac Deville Limousine.

Also, check for a blown head gasket with compression test.

1999 Lincoln continential will not start

I would first, change the spark plugs only if they were in the motor, say three years and 50,000. Not just to fix a misfire
Second you can only change a COP Coil, if you have a code or a way of knowing which one is bad. Again, why would you change all of them, when they all now work?
Crank Sensors rarely fail,so what test did you do to determine that was necessary?
Also.how would you know ,you had a missing coil, if you had no crank signal?
Now lets go from where you are now
Did you check fuel pressure,key-on ,eng off, with a pressure gauge?
Fuel filter fairly new?
Do you have all the ducting from the air cleaner to throttle body on and no vacuum leaks?
Do you have the MAF sensor connected. No signal,no start!!

Let me know what help you need
