Question about 2004 Chevrolet Express
Posted by Anonymous on
I have a 2003 Chevy Express with a belt. My alternator shot and I am in the middle of replacing it. I pulled off the timing belt, replaced the alternator, but my timing belt is not fitting... aka I am missing a pulley to loop around. Can someone please send me a diagram for the belt? thanks!

This van has a timing chain, which should last for the life of the engine. The LS engines, which I'm guessing you have one of the 4.8,5.3,or 6.0L, use a high quality roller timing chain that is long-lasting, and won't give you issues. Also, having roller lifters, the camshaft puts less resistance on the timing chain, so the combination of a strong chain coupled with less resistance, makes for a reliable chain.
