Question about Cars & Trucks

1 Answer

Feels like my front drivers side tire is lose but I check all the lugg nuts and they are tight. I can drive straight and I get a loud sqweal(as if I'm taking a corner to sharp) from the passenger side front tire and I just blew the passenger side tire a couple of days go. I seem to fix this problem if I hit a pot hole hard but for some reason its happening more often here lately.

Sounds like you have either tie/thrust rod ends going bad, or ball joints. Your wheel bearings could be going bad as well. Any of these can cause this problem. To check the tie/thrust rod ends, turn the vehicle off, and have a friend turn the wheel back and forth while you look at the steering linkages. If you see anything moving more than the part that it's attached to, you have found something that needs replacing right away. For Ball joints, put a jack on the a-arm right beside the wheel. Jack it up, and watch the tire as it starts to come off the ground. If it slides out when it just gets off the ground, you have bad ball joints on that side. Wheel/hub bearings can be trickier, unless they're REALLY worn. Jack the car up so that it's clear of the ground, and see if you can make the wheel wobble by moving it with your hands. You may also notice a grinding or whining sound coming from the affected side. You'll especially notice it if you drive with your window down, as you're passing a building or other hard object, as the sound reflects back at you. Hope this helped you find your problem.

The very FIRST thing you should do is MAKE SURE the lug nuts are tight on the wheels. The next thing I'd recommend is to closely inspect the tires and make sure there isn't a bulge... or isn't some kind of tread separation. Good luck...

Steering problems in 91 ford festiva.

Sounds like lower control arm is lose. Either ball joint or tierod end are bad or not tight. Check nut for tightness. If tight jack front of car up and shake tire up down left right. That will show you whats lose

Front-end vibration in my lincoln ls v8. you can only hear it when you go over 45 mph

I strongly suggest you check the lug nuts for tightness and if they are ok on your right front tire then go to a tire service center and have them balance and check the belts-either is very dangerous because it will A-fafall off or B-blow at high speed. Good luck!

2003 Yukon xl feels like 4 wheel drive on driver side stays in all the time. Feels like it is riding ruff on driver side.

Your description leaves open a lot of possibilities, but one common issue with these vehicles are wheel bearings. If you have access to a jack, you can lift one side of the front of the vehicle so that the tire is hanging in the air. Grab the top and the bottom of the tire and try to push and pull the tire toward you and away from you. There should be essentially no play or movement. if there is, your bearings need replacing.

Front end feels like it is moving side to side when driving on hi

Accords are usually pretty tight on the highway so unless something has been damaged in an accident, I suspect you have a tire problem. First thing, make sure they're inflated correctly, then jack the front of the car up and just spin each wheel by hand to see if there is excessive run-out. Repeat for the back as well. A tire that wobbles may have a separated belt and would cause your problem.
