Question about 1994 Chevrolet Sportvan G30
My 1994 chevrolet G30 van had the ignition switch broke out of the column now the transmission wont shift into a high gear about 45 mph and it does shift again its an automatic that ls80 or someting like that it def the 80 not the 60. Has anyone ever heard of a bad ignition switch cause transmission problems. Thanks

Its most likely the brake light switch, also connected to the steering column. It controls the Torque Converter Clutch, and when it is out of adjustment, it will not engage upper gears properly...The computer gets confussed and tries to protect the transmission.
