You need to helicoil the thread, not for the fainthearted, you may have to get it done by a main dealer if your not used to risking a new head.

New starter turns engine but will not fire

For the engine to run, it needs compression, fuel, and spark. having the proper tools for the ob is best but I will go with things readily available, without special tools.
Disconnect a spark plug and put a screw driver in the boot to touch the metal inside, place the shank of the screw driver close to metal, about 1/4 inch and crank the engine and look for a spark.
After cranking the engine, fuel should have got on the spark plug, remove the spark plug and check if it's damp or wet with fuel. Carburated engines are viewable if you operate the throttle and look down the carburator for squirting fuel.
With the spark plug off, stuff a rag on the threads where the spark plug threads into, don't fill the cylinder with the rag, just cover the hole by stuffing a rag on the threaded part, use a screw driver, then crank the engine, the rag should pop out of there during the compression cycle.
Apropiate tools needed is a spark tester, compression tester and fuel pressure tester and noid light. If you have these tools it is prefered you use them.

How do you replace the spark plugs on a 1998 2.7 Intrepid?

Always remove the ignition coil assembly by grasping at the spark plug boot, turning the assembly 1/2 turn and pulling straight back in a steady motion.
  • Prior to removing the spark plug, spray compressed air around the coil area and spark plug.
  • Remove electrical connector from ignition coil.
On 3.5L engines, it is necessary to loosen the screws by alternating back and forth. Do not lose the spacers under the coil when loosening the screws.
  • Remove 2 fasteners from ignition coil.
  • Remove ignition coil assembly.
  • Remove the spark plug using a quality socket with a rubber or foam insert.
  • Inspect the spark plug condition.

  • To avoid cross threading, start the spark plug into the cylinder head by hand.
  • 3.5L engines tighten spark plugs to 28 N·m (20 ft. lbs.) torque, 2.7L engine tighten spark plugs to 17.6 N·m (13 ft. lbs.).

Okay the car has new gasket and new wires and the spark plugs wires pops out of the valve cover why is that

If you bought after-market spark plug wires, that is not from a dealer, than sometimes the spark plug boot may be a tad short or loose on the spark plug and will slip or pop off. Take them back to the supplier in exchange for a better brand.

How do I repalce the spark plugs on my 2002 galant 2.4 4 cylinder engine

buy new plugs
set the gap on the new plugs
Label the plug wires (1-4)
pop the rummer cap where it goes into the cylinder head valve cover and remove the spark plug wire by grasping the shaft ot the spark wire and twisting it. Don't just pull on the wire as you can break it.
Cpat the threads on the spark plug with anti seize compund.
screw in the spark plug carefully so you don't cross thread it. Check a repair manual for torque specs; if you don't have a torque wrench, you want the spark plugs snug but not cranked down with all your strength.
Replace the spark plug wire and this is important, don't mix what wire goes where..

Number 2 spark plug wire keeps popping off spark plug

First, make sure the spark plug is in tight and not cross threaded (take it and put back in). If the plug is loose, pressure comes out of the cylinder and pushed the wire off.

Second, push the spark plug boot on and massage the air out of the boot.

Hope this helps.

Are the fuel injectors on the 01 expedition easy to replace on my own,I am ok doing the filter, and is there a trick to changing the spark plugs as well?

if you look at the front of your expedition on the passenager side as well as the driver side you will see a rail on each side there is two screws on the side of the rail remove the rail and lift up and then the injectors pop out and for the spark plugs you will need a long bar and socket that go on the spark plugs and be sure to put some anti-seize on the new spark plugs before putting them back in and also make sure all of your o-rings are on you injectors before putting them back in also pickup a small pack of grease for them at the autopart store before you put them back

Open up the tail gate, you will see two torque screws on the inside beside the tail lights. take these out, this will free up the housing and you can change it from there.
