    Thank you.

I have been looking for a plunger switch in the door frame. The switch is actually integrated behind the latching bar. My problem is that the contact plate (plastic)was worn. I added a little electrical tape to give it more thickness. So far (today) this seems to have worked.

    Thank you FTW1952
My first problem is that I was looking for a traditional plunger switch in the door frame. I found today that the switch is actually hidden behind the latch bar.
I figured my problem has to be intermittent contact. The contact plate is plastic and it was heavily worn. I added a layer of electrical tape for a little more thickness. This seems to have worked.

I do appreciate your answer. After three days of one hour commutes (each way) listening to 'ding-ding-ding' I was ready to follow your advice or drive off a bridge. Luckily, I didn't have to pull the relay or physically short the switch.

Door is loked on rear driver side want open

Won't open from outside? Won't open from inside? Equipped with power door locks? IF so, and won't open inside/outside, suspect stuck power door lock actuator. Sometimes working the lock/unlock button will make the door unlock. If not, the door will require disassembly from inside to determine what the failure may be. If the door needs disassembly while in the closed position, the paneling/clips may get damaged FYI

The sliding door on the driver side is stuck closed and will not unlock either manually or electonically. I have the panel off and the black plastic pulled down, but am unable to get the electical lock(?)...

disable door lock...Close all of the doors of the Caravan and insert the key into the ignition.

Move the key to the "ON" position, and then back to the "OFF" position. Repeat this step four times.

Press the driver's side door lock to the "LOCK" position within 10 seconds of turning the ignition to the "OFF" position. If done properly, a single chime will emit from the Caravan to indicate that you have disabled the auto-lock feature.

also a good video on how to remove door lock on Caravan....youtube.
hope this helps a little

Drivers side sliding door won't close

check mechanism on working doors. In my car if I move the catch on the door(click it like in closed position)like it was closed, then when I open the handle it releases open;this shows me closing/opening. Spray penetrating fluid on the metal/mechanism,possibly rusty and prevents smooth actions. Hope this helps.

Alarm won't turn off

the valet key doesnt have a transponder chip in it, so it will allow physical turning of keyways and operations, but will not disable the alarm and often wont disable the immobilizer.

sorry to say i think you will need to get an autolocksmith , or main dealer to get you a functioning key with transponder chip mapped to your cars rfid system that will allow alarm to be enabled /disabled

The warning chime on my 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee continues chiming when the door is closed and the key is in the first position from off. I tow this unit behind a motor home and need to leave the key in...

The chime is active because the sensor on one of the doors keeps reporting it as open - this is a defect in the sensor, located inside the actual lock. You cannot disable the chime, it's an integral part of the Body Control Module. To fix that the door will have to be dismantled and the sensor replaced, a job for a repair shop.
Until you reach one you can disconnect the battery and lock the doors manually.
