On the dome light you could have a short in the wire that gos to the if you know how to take the light out and check the wireing i would do that.. check the fuses for lighter if they are good then could be that something has shorted them out!!!!! maybe same fuse goes with dome lights

dome light is never on a separate fuse. There are always other things on the same circuit. in my 02 prism the radio, trunk light are on the same circuit. I've wasted half an how here and other places looking for an answer and see nothing but inane answers that aren't even answers but people that don't know their rear form a hole in the ground.
And I have yet to find anyone who had the problem come back and say what I turned out to be. Many answers start with "it's a dead short". Well, duh!! if you put a new fuse in with everything turned of and the fuse immediately blows that's the definition of dead short. And since the fuse is called "dome" even though there is other stuff on the same circuit I'll say that's where to start. I had to replace the dome light a few months ago. had a hard time getting the new bulb in place so that's where I'm going to start, just removing the bulb and see if it doesn't immediately blow the fuse. If it doesn't then the radio and trunk light and the other stuff should work, map lights too. If that happens I'll come back and say so. Problem is since there are so many things that are unlikely candidates for a bare wire short I don't know where to look next. the scary thing is it's blowing fuses with every think, even the dome light, with the switches off. Radio off, dome like in the off position, doors shut so no switch should be on, trunk closed so no call for a trunk like and on and on. I've read this same question asked about 15 times and nobody comes back and says what they found. I've been tempted to leave well enough alone because of the mysterious nature of it while it still runs, the headlights and dash lights work and I don't want to make it worse.

One person even suggested checking tracing the wire form the dome light to where it goes. Just a wise guy answer he has not clue how to actually do. General rule of thumb here, if you've never done it, don't know how to do it, can't explain how to do it, can't explain how it would fix it don't post it.

My 12v cigarette lighter socket keeps blowing fuses on my Renault Modus.

First step would be to use a bright flashlight and examine the socket (receptacle) closely for the cause of the short. You may be able to remove it. If the fuse blows when you try to use the cigarette lighter, the plug lighter element may be faulty and need to be replaced. These lighters are pretty standard and you could try one from another car that you know works properly to help diagnose.

1996 Jimmy brake light fuse keeps blowing even when you open the door any suggestions?

CHECK YOUR CIGARETTE LIGHTER FOR FOREIGN OBJECTS, (COINS, PAPERCLIPS) MOST GMC OF THAT YEAR HAVE LIGHTERS THAT SHORT OUT. ALSO TRY DISCONNECTING THEM. DOME LAMPS, CIGARETTE LIGHTERS, VANITY MIRRORS, STOP LAMPS ARE ON THE SAME CIRCUIT. HOPE THIS HELPS YOU.

Dome lights stopped working... then found a blown fuse... went to replace fuse and the new fuse blew as soon as I installed it... but the door was open, could have been the reason???

Not likely. Usually the dome light fuse is also the same one for the cigarette lighter. Most common problem is that there is soemthing inthe cigarette lighter that is causing a short. If there is nothing in there, then you will need to check the wire for the dome light to be sure that it is not shorted.

I keep blowing fuses on my 1989 acura ledgend

What circuit? Check the owners manual and see what all is powered by the circuit that blows. For example - the dome light and cigarette lighter could be powered by the same fuse. A dirty element on the lighter could cause cause shorting that would blow the fuse and put the dome light out. The symptom that you notice might not be the cause. You could also have a wire that has damaged insulation that is shorting to ground and blowing fuses. Faulty or worn parts could cause blown fuses.

Aux Pwr Outlets not powered

there is a plug on the back of cigarette lighter. it has two wires. it could possibly be unplugged. test it there. it should have the positive wire in the center and ground on the outside. the cigarette lighter receptacles go out sometimes and can be replaced if you have voltage in wires but plug in doesn't work.
