Look into the starter motor.
Car is 10 years old and starter motor problem is linked to startup issues in cars. Common issue

There may be another possibility... there are safety switches which would also prevent a switch actuating a starter. If the vehicle is not fully registered in park or neutral, the switch will not allow the starter to work.
Check this first.
If this isn't the case, have the starter pulled and get Autozone to check it for you.
I don't think the alternator's a factor here.
I hope this helps... Good luck.

start with the basics, does the fuel pump work, do you have spark, do you have injector signal, are the fuses good, lots of variables here
